If you get a chance go talk to the cast members and conductors at the New Orleans Square Train Station. They have so much knowledge about the Disneyland Railroad! Train #4 is the oldest train in the park, built in 1894!
This would actually be train No. 3, the Fred Gurley. Engine No. 4 is the Ernest S. Marsh, which is at Main Street Station today.
The Fred Gurley is a 2-4-4 locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1894. Originally the Gurley was a 0-4-4 locomotive before Disney converted her to a 2-4-4 wheel arrangement. Before being acquired by Disney she ran on a sugar plantation in Louisiana. The Fred Gurley was named after the President of the Santa Fe Railway from 1944-1957; he originally approved the Santa Fe's sponsorship of the Disneyland Railroad. The Fred Gurley is the oldest locomotive or railroad equipment in any Disney park. - ckholliday 254.2 #1346 1-30-16 4:25PMLike(2)Reply

This is very sweet of you. Please add me. My most prized purchases at Disneyland were two balloons that I deflated and framed. They were purchased for my then 18 month old son and 3 yr old daughter. They cherished these balloons during the entire trip. Those balloons are a constant reminder to stay forever young! - BibbidiBobbidiBoo 100.4 #3648 6-6-15 10:47AMLikeReply
