#TBT Anyone remember Super Soap Weekends at DCA? I think they only did it for two years. Not 100% but I believe this was from 2002. I always watched the ABC soaps so this was fun to see. They had stations set up throughout for pics and au More...
I never saw that or heard of it – it seems bizarre to be on Disneyland Resort, but DCA was so different back then. Thanks for the bit of history😊 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 4977.9 #18 2-19-15 12:21PMLikeReply
I remember. It was in DCA in Hollywood Land. There was a store to buy Soap stuff. - Winnie111286 2745.0 #41 2-19-15 12:24PMLikeReply
I remember my wife dragging me to this to meet the cast of All My Children. I paid her back with having her take me to the food and wine event a few years later so she could drive me home. - richiii3 396.4 #512 2-20-15 10:40AMLikeReply
Seeing how it's Thursday, I thought I'd post something for #tbt. This goes all the way back to 1989! I was a cute little guy back then! Also is it just me or was the captain hook back then kinda creepy looking? lol
he was creepy like that through the 90s early 2000s - Dave 12205.9 #2 2-19-15 11:33AMLike(1)Reply
What a great photo. Which one are you? And yes, Hook definitely looks scarier. I'm also checking out those 'waste paper' cans.😂The colors look like Tomorrowland. And the gal in the red looks like she's losing her sunglasses. - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 4977.9 #18 2-19-15 10:36AMLikeReply
#TBT - a little lighter image of Splash under construction in 1988
I guess I shoulda thrown back these throw back images. Too dark in translation. Well, it was very interesting to see in person. And of course, Splash opened the next summer, July 1989. - MelodyMouse 3696.8 #27 2-12-15 6:10PMLike(1)Reply
Supposedly it didn't fit in with the rest of the park. Disney officials acknowledged that the S&S Power Space Shot ride lacked the theming and back story necessary to blend with the 1920s and ’30s seaside amusement park motif and Victorian and Craftsman architecture of the re-imagined Paradise Pier area. Oh well. - Plumiegirl 8428.0 #3 2-6-15 12:30AMLikeReply
