Turn off Wifi while in the parks, this will save a lot of power because when wifi is on, your iPhone is constantly searching for available networks - Admin   12-27-10 3:36PM Like(9)  Reply
Turn off 3G. - GoofyJoe   1906.6 #99 12-27-10 3:36PM Like(3)  Reply
This was supposed to be a comment not a reply lol oops. - Jackie211  483.3 #481 12-28-11 9:10PM
but that would mean turning off my Nexus entirely, or going to Airplane mode! - CM_Shadowgamer  2666.2 #57 8-16-12 6:28PM
This tip works for when there are too many people using their phones & are jamming the cell towers: remove 3G & restart your phone. All phones are programmed to find the "best" signal, so then 3G get backed up & you can't make phone calls or use data. Instead, try to make your phone access 2G or edge, the "slower" signal, which is less accessed. Works every time... even when I was in SF for the Giants parade at City Hall. - PrincessSarah   171.2 #2490 12-27-10 3:47PM Like(1)  Reply
Hate to be a "Debbie downer" but with all these tips to turn everything off, to save battery life. Might as well just turn off the phone. I actually think the solar powered battery charger is the best solution that way you can keep the phone and everything else on :) - anthony91765   162.4 #2630 12-27-10 4:12PM Like(1)  Reply
I carry a callpod and dont shut anything off. Everytime i eat or sit down i recharge my phone with the pod. - GoofyJoe   1906.6 #99 12-27-10 4:14PM Like(1)  Reply
Airplane mode, brightness at middle setting, wifi off, bluetooth off. With Sbsettings this is done in seconds. I also have remove bg which kills all my unused processes. Whenever I need to make an call, upload a pic or update I just switch the airplane toggle and I'm back on 3G. I mostly use my phone for pics and videos. How is it a Debbie downer. I don't need a million apps running and push notifications just so I can know you just had a coke zero and a churro. I don't need Bluetooth because I not in my car and need my phone synced with my stereo. Plus I not a doctor so I do not need to receive phone calls while I am at DL. - Leatherneck   7.6 #14172 12-27-10 4:23PM Like(1)  Reply
I second Airplane Mode! Just toggle back to normal mode when you need to use your phone, then back, etc...super easy :o) - HadMatter  491.6 #472 12-28-11 9:18PM

I charge it to 100% in the car on the way up and also turn of wifi since there isn't any anyway. And we have backup power packs we got at Target for $30. Sometimes I don't even need to use it. It depends on how long we're there and how much I use the phone. But I do spend a lot of time on MW and FB and using my phone as a camera. - TickledTink   388.1 #24 12-27-10 4:35PM Like  Reply

Turning off a lot of those things mentioned in the above posts, worked really well for me on my visit in January. Try it next time. - Song   2242.4 #78 1-25-11 9:59AM Like  Reply
A solar charger was great but it only worked when we were stationary for a while (e.g., lunch, etc.). We tried clipping it on the backpack as we strolled through the Parks but the unit would stop charging whenever we walked through shadows. We even had to "chase" the sun on the table when we were charging as we ate. - NermieMouse   137.7 #3039 12-27-11 11:06PM Like  Reply
A case the works really good but is a little pricey is the Mophie Juice pack air or Juice Pack Plus. It can charge your phone since it is a special case with a battery inside of it. - robman97   376.2 #653 12-27-11 11:12PM Like  Reply
Great tips everyone 👍 - Jillian   767.1 #279 12-27-11 11:20PM Like  Reply
Does anyone remember a link from MouseWait for an external battery charger? When I clicked on it, there was a quick message about MouseWait would benefit and it took me to the product's page on Amazon. I can't seem to find it on any of my cached MouseWait pages . . .

I do see a link for the ZAGGsparq here today.

Does anyone have any comments/feedback on these chargers? Thanks in advance.

Sprint had a charger that charged with out being plugged in and fit any USB. When it was plugged it in charged itself and the phone. I use it and it works great. I have no idea what it's called. - Minnis2Society  369.9 #672 12-31-11 8:17AM

Turn off all push notifications including emails, turn bright off phone, double tap the home button and and close all app's, turn 3G off, turn wifi off, take pictures only when needed. Fully charge phone before leaving and carry a Trent or any other extra battery for your phone - Jackie211   483.3 #481 12-28-11 9:11PM Like  Reply

Can we start a similar resource for iPhone (portable battery) chargers? I got a mophie juice pack "boost" last year and it turned out to be junk  :(  so I'm looking for a replacement. So far, I've seen a ZAGG sparq, a callpod, the mophie juice pack "air" and the "plus", as well as a Trent listed on MW. Anyone willing to share their experiences? Any suggestions for other units? - NermieMouse   137.7 #3039 1-9-12 1:52PM Like  Reply
I use my Zagg sparq and it gives 3 full charges to my iPhone. Small and compact. Compatible with any USB device. Quick charge and I can use my phone while it's charging! - adhhsigner  19.4 #7934 4-25-12 12:07PM
Just got one a couple weeks ago at Office Depot called a Snow Leopard, works great, get 5 complete charges , slightly larger than the phone, can charge two phones at once and $39.95. Works for all phone types. - Mikesaxclar   781.2 #273 8-16-12 5:50PM Like  Reply
Look for somebody's post about a groovy deal from new Trent. You're welcome. - Butterlina   1634.4 #117 8-16-12 5:58PM Like  Reply
I have the New Trent & it's great. When I am uploading pics to post I stop and plug in and check messages. There are tons of great places to sit & charge in both parks. - ShariRenee  12244.3 #8 11-21-12 8:29PM

I keep my GPS off but still enter wait times - Jenniferr  506.7 #458 8-16-12 6:30PM
This is a yes and no. If you're constantly using apps that try and access your location whether its hidden or obvious it could drain it. Just really depends on what apps you have installed and what's running in the background. - RickChavez  3685.2 #46 8-16-12 6:32PM
Plug in the outside patio, by the fireplace at the Grand Californian. - DoomBugE   7.9 #13852 11-21-12 8:21PM Like  Reply
I used the MouseWait link and bought a Trent. It arrived today. Yay to those advocating for others turning off their phones at Disneyland but your directing this towards a Live from Disneyland app that relies on users having their phones on to update those wait times and offer live pics. - MrsMears   217.3 #1868 11-21-12 8:54PM Like  Reply
How about partnering up with another and use one phone at a time?  Switch phones when the battery from the first phone is near it's end. - LeftyLightning   460.0 #518 5-31-14 8:37AM Like  Reply
