Celebration meetups are what MW typically has.. everyone and anyone is invited to attend. If its a singles meetup, it "seems" like you have to be single to go. By having singles meetups it makes it seem like you're separating the couples groups from the singles groups. I know there are a lot of MWers who are worried that others might feel like they have to fit into either the singles category or the "other" category, when we should really be one big family. I don't think this meetup is for the purpose of meeting someone to date. I think it is suppose to be so the single people don't feel like the 5th, 11th, 23rd wheel. As a single person I will say at times it does suck showing up to a groups full of couples. It's all about having fun and not feeling out of place because we aren't in a relationship. Like DMW said, there has been all sorts of other specific meetups why not this? I'm pretty sure no one would turn their back if someone in a relationship showed up. Just like no one turned their back on adults showing to the teen one. But if it helps calm people down how about it not Call it a meet up and how about all us singles just go chill at Disneyland. I say just go and hang out at any meetup, I have never felt uncomfortable hanging out with any groups at MW but I think when people try and start a meetup that is just limited to single people it might put out the wrong vibe that everyone is looking to hookup or somthing. Just go and hangout with any expectations and have fun. I did it once for the MW birthday and I won't do it again. So after reading another comment on this thread I had an idea. Instead of calling it a singles meetup, since that seems to be putting out a bad vibe for some, why not just a "single riders" meetup? I know that more than half of my trips I go alone, I have kids but my 15 year old is just not that interested. Weird, I know. And my oldest has other responsibilities and isn't always available.
