So while at the park yesterday, I noticed many a CM emptying trash cans and pulling out all the bottles to recycle. This makes me think: 1) is it so hard to recycle your bottles? There are bins throughout the parks! 2) Do the CMs HAVE to pull out the recyclables or did I just come across very environmentally friendly CMs? Ideas/thoughts/insights?!?!
Even though there are recycling bins, guests still ignore them. The custodial CMs have to pull the bottles out because as a company, we're trying to be green. Another example is in Critter Country, we are the "guinea pigs" for the new recycling program. Rather than just throwing everything into one bin, we now have 3, one for plastic, one for paper (mostly receipts), and the other for trash. Btw, Disney donates all of the bottles' CRV to charity in the local areas. - BaseballMickey_CM   6086.1 #13 7-10-11 8:37PM Like  Reply
We have a very elaborative system of recycling done backstage. The proceeds go to charity which helps guide dogs who are assigned to individuals with vision difficulties. - agarcia38CM   6.0 #13566 7-10-11 8:39PM Like  Reply
They go through a lot of trash to sort out recyclables. It's not all trash, but a lot of them. It's Disney's way of being green. - prettyinpink   10.4 #8995 7-10-11 8:40PM Like  Reply
Thanks! I figured Disney tried to be "green" but didn't know the charity part! That is very cool! - WannaBeAtDisneyland   229.4 #1486 7-10-11 8:43PM Like  Reply
