Oh oh pick me pick me LoL. A teacher that impacted my life was my science teacher in 9th grade of high school. She took a young, sad, negative teen under her wing and helped to see my potential. 26 years later she's still a close member of my family. Also my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Lynn, for keeping me back a year just for the simple fact of teaching me a lesson of taking school serious and just not being the class clown. Following year I busted my butt and got straight A's by X-mas break and was bumped up to 7th. Those 2 teachers remain in my heart til this day!! - Romec123aKaSmartyPants   763.4 #310 8-6-11 7:29PM Like  Reply

You don't have to enter me. Just wanted to talk about the most special teacher. Ms Marion. In elementary school I was in special Ed. The teacher I had before her sat me in a cubeical till school was over. They thought I was stupid because I couldn't write. Anyways Ms. Marion told me who cares I couldn't write. So she worked with me and even gave me an iq test. She said I was way too smart for special Ed. So I repeated second grade in normal classes. I even graduated highschool and work. Even doctors told me I couldn't. But between her and mom never letting me give up I can do anything even with my mild case of cerebral palsy. I'm 32 now I work, drive and all. If it wasn't for her I think they'd of kept me in special Ed. - jon-t   190.5 #2287 8-6-11 8:15PM Like  Reply

Wonderful historical RAK! Please enter me. I have been lucky to have so many great teachers in my life. Mrs. Archibald - my HS Spanish teacher, showed me how learning could be fun. Mr. Henderson - 5th grade, who taught me about tolerance and patience. Dean Garrison - taught us innovative ways of Musical Theatre performance. My grandma (a fomer teacher) who through her stories of family, taught me to love history. And my parents, both teachers, who instilled in me a love of learning and how one should never stop educating themselves. - Gia   802.2 #286 8-7-11 10:19AM Like  Reply

What a great RAK. The teacher with the most impact would be my science teacher in hs. We were talking one day about what I wanted to do in the future and he convinced me to go into the dental field. I had a huge fear of the dental office but now I have been a dental hygienist for the past 20 years and I am able to help others become more comfortable in the dental chair. - mamamouse22   27.8 #6847 8-7-11 12:30PM Like  Reply

Not to toot my own horn, I've been a preschool teacher for 13 years now. I enjoy watching young children grow to use their own imagination, to navigate self help skills, to figure things out on their own. I have seen kids who were challanging at a young age, go on to be the sweetest kids you will ever meet and STILL remember you when they leave preschool. I love those kids as if they were my own. Please add me. Thanks very much. - Bigdisneykid   284.9 #1169 8-7-11 1:47PM Like  Reply

Add me plz. Not sure how positive this is, and certainly not as deep as other comments, but i found it amusing. I hold a pencil dufferent from the norm, and my first grade teacher gave be a pencil grip with grooves for my fingers to try and correct it. She would yell at me if i didnt use the grip. In secound grade, my teacher also used a grip, but gave up after a few months. Since then, teachers would/will say "you hold your pencil weird!" and then go do something else lol - C-Ticket   42.0 #127 8-7-11 2:53PM Like  Reply

I had a teacher in the 1st and 2nd grade named Mr. Neil (like 1992) at Sunset Elementary in La Puente, Ca. I often wonder if he's still teaching. I remember MR. Neil was an amature inventor and some kind Of engineer. He built a small jet rocket that travelled around the room (it was very dangerous but once again, it was the early 90s lol) and he built a miniature steam engine too. Because of that, I became very interested in science and machinery. I will never forget the many gadgets he built and showed us. - i_has_dimples   9.1 #13214 8-7-11 3:11PM Like  Reply
My fave teacher was my Spanish teacher In high school her name is mrs Valdez. She was so Lind and generous and she would never talk down to any of her students. She would talk to us like family. She would never get agitated wen someone was a couple chapters behind she would willingly have us all be on the same page so others wouldn't feel singled out. Because of her lovely spiri it made all the students want to learn more and more. Because of her I got student of the month in foreign language and now know enough Spanish for everyday life. Muchas Gracias por todo señora Valdez! Please enter me and thank u for such a great rak - Disney-PINcess   281.8 #1198 8-7-11 3:18PM Like  Reply
My most influential teacher is actually two teachers combined. I took art all four years of high school and had a teacher by the name of Mrs. Fisher that was wonderful at building self esteem and confidence in your work while the next few years I had a more advanced art class and had a teacher by the name of Mr. Bullard who was a bit more critical. Together they were the perfect combination of first building up a person then disciplining and fine tuning skills. Mr Bullard hardly ever complimented a persons work but once when visiting with Mrs Fisher she shared with me that he came over to her classroom once and had to share one of my drawings and made a comment about how he wished more students would do what I do. It wasn't until then that I realized his tough love technique but believe it helped push me as a student and as a person to always work hard and do my best. I sure miss them both. :( - DisneyMomma   260.3 #1403 8-7-11 3:30PM Like  Reply

Wow! What an awesome RAK!! I've been so fortunate to have so many wonderful teachers over the years. One of my favorites was Mrs. Rice (5th&6th grade), who gave me such an appreciation of reading and theater. Her class was filled with so many non-conventional teaching methods! We always had fun and were always learning new things! The same goes for Mr. Dolan (junior yr history) who RARELY gave us normal homework. We made floor plans, wrote poems, created music, wrote tv shows, etc. And most of the assignments had multiple ways to express the material (art, music, paper) so you could learn the way you wanted. I have retained more information from that history class than any other I have taken. He inspired me to look outside the box in both learning and teaching. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this! - lmahon424   103.8 #3748 8-8-11 10:05AM Like  Reply

I still keep in touch with her and I will never forget her. - mommyland   289.4 #1122 8-8-11 9:33PM Like  Reply
Mr. Policare @ Bishop Amat high school always told me I would make a great English teacher. I went to school and got a business degree. He died when I was 28. As I sat at his funeral, I knew that the business world was not for me. With his inspiration and the support of my hubby I went back to school. I am now 36 and a High School English teacher. I have never been happier! - Cheereza   44.6 #5439 8-8-11 9:46PM Like  Reply

She made me have a goal, other teachers showed me the love and passion of teaching and my current best teacher is some of my coworkers, I admire so many! - MarshaMouse   5058.3 #35 8-8-11 11:53PM Like  Reply

Well, it wasn't a teacher of mine, but my son's 3rd grade teacher. Her name was Mrs. Knight and she was amazing. She EXPECTED her students to excel & they did. Of my son's class, two were Rhodes Scholars, two are lawyers, 3 are doctors, and my son went to the Air Force Academy and now flies F-16's. I will never forget her! - DeeDeeMouse   299.1 #1062 8-9-11 7:39AM Like  Reply
My most favorite teacher was Mrs. Gordon. She stood for everything that was proper and how to treat one another with respect. If you called someone "honey" or "sweetie" or said "yea" she would make u write that person's name or the word yes 200 times! add me please - 1lvdsny   69.2 #4481 8-9-11 7:56AM Like  Reply

Castro :) she believed in me and told me that I can do anything and she is the one person who encouraged me to write my 1st book in elementary school. (I was 7 and yes I had the book get a hardcover ) lol it was a little story but I gave her my 1st copy and signed it. And she gave me a note that I still have up on my wall "melina, anyone that has the pleasure of knowing you is in the presence of greatness because one day you will change lives" :') thank you great RAK :) - CMWalker   341.4 #815 8-9-11 3:37PM Like  Reply

I had a chemistry professor in college who was such a great man . He was always respectful of everyone's intellect and was always there to help you with any problems. He always had a smile on his face and back before it was not taboo to touch a student he would often put his hand on your shoulder when talking to you. He always made his students feel at ease and there was never a stupid question in his book. - CaptnSparrow   679.5 #356 8-9-11 8:59PM Like  Reply

Very cool RAK, please add me. My most influential teacher was my math teacher from high school (algebra 2/trig, AP Statistics). He is still my favorite teacher to date. He somehow made those subjects fun and I would never want to do poorly on a test or forget my homework just because I wouldn't want to disappoint him! - jackie9448   149.7 #2906 8-10-11 12:17AM Like  Reply

Well i have always wanted to be an attorney but every teacher laughed at the idea of that until I went to college except one... Mrs. Rouw my English teacher believed in me and really pushed me to make my dream a reality. I am not attending one of the Top 25 law schools and I have her to thank for it. - dsmdanny   144.9 #2983 8-10-11 10:09AM Like  Reply
Add Me Please!!! =) A teacher that has made a great impact in my life was my 8th grade algebra teacher Miss Valentine. I was going through so many trials that I didn't know how to handle them correctly, I had become depressed and dealt with that depression through self-mutilation. She never looked upon me in a disgusted or judgmental way. She began to help me through my depression by talking to me about God and stuff... needless to say I am now a Born Again Christian and love life ;) And I especially love anything Disney!!!! :D - giovannathing1   5.2 #20354 8-10-11 1:10PM Like  Reply

I had a teacher I had for two classes my senior year and she made my life a lot easier. I had to go to a school for one class and didn't have time to stop for lunch. She told me as long as I keep up an A in her class she would allow me to go early so I could eat. It was government n another history class. Never did well in these types of classes but I was determined to keep up my grade and I did. Also I had another history teacher that we did a huge wwII project and I did really well at it. I had never learned so much about family history and the war history. - TinkTinkTink   331.8 #31 8-10-11 3:27PM Like  Reply

If it's not too late I'd like to enter. I have 2 teachers. My first was my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Burris. He never gave up on me when my 4th grade teacher put me in the "dummy group" because I couldn't add 7+5 in my head. The 2nd one was my first college Algebra professor. She made math fun at ag 28! - Tweedle_Deedee   228.2 #1788 8-10-11 5:03PM Like  Reply
