Hi Everyone! My husband and I are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on New Year's Eve. Has anyone been to DL on 12/31 and if so, how can we ensure we aren't turned away due to park overcrowding? Will Annual Passes guarantee us entry?
My girlfriends and I went a couple years ago! It was beautiful and amazing! I think everyone should go atleast once for NY! This year is my first year with premium pass so I'm not sure... We bought regular tickets for that night and got in fine. I think if you don't have a Pewmium pass the date is considered black out. Anyway have fun and Happy Anniversary!!! :) - Mickey3 3.1 #35374 8-22-11 6:12PMLikeReply
Disneyland is super crazy. Especially after the countdown. Stay at DCA for that. - Starr 550.3 #331 8-22-11 6:14PMLikeReply
We went last year and got in with no problem and we have a premium pass! - Sonja 6577.7 #11 8-22-11 6:20PMLikeReply
DCA has a super duper awesome special WOC w fireworks and songs that are on top 40 at that time.... i liked that.... - VinylSteve 515.4 #366 8-22-11 6:25PMLikeReply
My wife of 38 years and I went New Years Eve 1999 for the Millennium, it was awesome. Enjoy! - splashphotoCM 885.6 #178 8-22-11 6:30PMLikeReply
Whoa, I never thought about going for that day, cool input coming in. - AndrewJ 158.9 #2477 8-22-11 6:31PMLikeReply
My bf and I went a few years ago and they did start to turn people away. What we ended up doing was leaving the park at 1-2pm resting for a couple hours and then came back and stayed in the park the rest of the night. I would say make sure you are in the park before dark and you should be fine - WhoDat88 112.1 #3244 8-22-11 7:02PMLikeReply
I went this past year, was great. I got there around 4. Parked about a mile away but they provided shuttles. Still got in with my premium pass with no hassle. It's an experience that's great. - MrMike 418.6 #476 8-22-11 7:07PMLikeReply
Been there once! It was pretty amazing!! My daughter was stoked that we were the "1st guests in the park for the new year" lol. Just make sure you get your handstamped if you exit the park at any point. EVEN if you have an AP!! That's what park supervisor told me. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants 650.0 #270 8-22-11 7:15PMLikeReply
Thanks everyone!! I think we'll be able to deal with the crowds, considering we got married in New York City on NYE..nothing more crowded than that!. :D - Alicewhoareyou 1502.5 #93 8-22-11 8:30PMLikeReply
I did once... went for club 33 diner then left... too crowded - CheshireFreak 235.9 #1425 8-22-11 8:36PMLikeReply
It is extremely crowded at that time. I've been twice for new years. It's something to experience at least once. :) - PixieBelle 237.4 #1405 8-22-11 9:11PMLikeReply
Get there early for new year because it will be packed. Don't count on being an ap to get you in because I've had friends who were premium ap get turned away - bigben1138 311.4 #761 8-22-11 9:15PMLikeReply
Me and my fiancé went last year and actually somehow got tickets at like 730 pm. I would not recommend that strategy though. It was a great time but very very crazy. Main street for the countdown was totally worth it, as was catching the last train from tommorow land to main st. And having the train so packed everyone who was related was sitting on each others laps and that poor engine was straining to get moving! Great time - bigmike77 17.7 #7057 8-22-11 9:18PMLikeReply
I'd say get there early and get your hand stamped because if/when they reach capacity they'll turn you away if you don't have the stamp. - TrueFromOzLovesDisney 459.6 #422 8-22-11 9:19PMLikeReply
Get in early! When I was there a couple years ago the park filled up around 1 or 2! Yikes! It's a long day but so awesome. Around 8 we found a place at the Plaza to sit and eat and we each took shifts staying at the table while others went to ride rides. - ansloth 495.1 #385 8-22-11 9:23PMLikeReply
Thanks folks :) So it sounds like as long as we get there before noon, we might be fine (w/ a handstamp)....:D - Alicewhoareyou 1502.5 #93 8-22-11 9:29PMLikeReply
