Today's English lesson: there is no such word as "alright" - it is always 2 words - "all right" and it's easy to remember this if you think that "Alright is never all right" - all right? Allrightythen...(and no - that's not a word either).
I always wondered, is it I could care less, or I couldn't care less? - Katrayher 781.0 #273 8-29-11 1:51AMLikeReply
If it's "could care less" then that wouldn't work in cases where it was not actually possible to care less. A bit like "penultimate" - which people use as if it means "ultimate" which it doesn't. Also, "thank you" is always two words and what Zoe said. I would also like to point out that it's "enamoured OF" not "enamoured WITH" and....I think that's enough for now. - BLG 1048.9 #197 8-29-11 2:03AMLikeReply
I'm guilty of alright'ing :'( And I think I learned somewhere, at some point in life, that it is "Anyway" not "Anyways"...but I could be wrong...which wouldn't be a surprise. lol - AndReallyBadEggs 254.8 #1388 8-29-11 2:05AMLikeReply
You're right, eggs, and as for your confession, I hereby absolve you because you bumped Lily's post :) - BLG 1048.9 #197 8-29-11 2:07AMLikeReply
Thank you!!! I should send my kids to you, so they can learn proper English. - Katrayher 781.0 #273 8-29-11 2:07AMLikeReply
Are we learning English or Australian? - Rob512 756.3 #287 8-29-11 2:08AMLikeReply
I believe we are learning Australian. I am fluent in American. - bluefairy 643.8 #350 8-29-11 2:11AMLikeReply
LOL! I'm fairly certain we are both from English-speaking countries....but if you haven't noticed from some of the other Aussies on here, we are just as challenged in that sphere as Americans. LOL! - BLG 1048.9 #197 8-29-11 2:17AMLikeReply
