The First Disneyland Weight Loss Program

I'll tell of my success with what I did and still follow. It's called the Zone Diet, by Dr. Sears who basically made it for diabetics. But what my doctor started me on was "stay away from anything white to eat". I cut out bread, pasta, potatoes & rice for a month. I ate as much salad, meats (mostly chicken) and the right veggies and fruits. I even ate Mexican and Italian at restaurants. Fajitas without the tortillas and all beans no rice. I lived on chicken Caesar salads at the Carnation cafe w/out croutons . And I cut out sodas and switched to lemonade and raspberry ice tea. It has worked very well and I never felt deprived of eating except deserts. Try it faithfully for just two weeks. Even ate at buffets when I started. I lost 60 lbs in 2 months.
Awesome! Sounds a lot like the South Beach Diet, which is what I follow. Actually... they both just sound like the "how we should all eat all the time" diet a.k.a. healthy eating! Congrats! - msdizmaui  518.7 #223 10-8-11 2:32PM Like(1)  Reply
I lost a few pounds when we went to the parks for 6 days a couple of months ago. I ate mostly sandwiches (everything else has onions and I'm allergic) and drank water and the light lemonaid they sell there. Also it was really hot, and I took a few turns pushing my mom's wheelchair. I didn't count calories- I wasn't even dieting then! - Smackerel  211.9 #1451 10-20-11 10:10AM Like(1)  Reply
WOW (Sebastian jaw-drop)! Inspiration I tell ya! I have heard of cutting all the white stuff but I struggle with cutting out the rice I must admit. However, maybe I will look into this Zone diet... Thanks so much for sharing your story. - Duchess73  293.7 #650 10-8-11 11:10AM Like  Reply
It wasn't bad at all. And I'm Italian and love mexican food too. I also didn't switch the low cal dressings. They can have more sugar and carbs than regular. Just used less dressing. Cutting out the 3-5 Pepsi's a day probably helped alot. And I'm not diabetic. My wife went on it a few weeks later cause she felt guilty and she loved it. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #100 10-8-11 11:40AM

Thanks. Another thing. Just spent 3 days in the park and it was 100-103 those days. Did drink alot of water but I either shared an entre with my wife or got a child's meal with apple slices and water. Lost 3 lbs. But remember I'm a guy ladies and we just loose easier. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #100 10-17-11 1:51PM
I will be happy if I just maintain when I go... - Duchess73  293.7 #650 10-17-11 8:25PM
