Good Morning MWrs! Happy hump day :) I am Las Vegas bound for New Years. But this is somewhat Disney wondering if anyone has seen these shows out in Vegas? Opinions please :) I want to see both but that would be a little too much $..Thanks :)
The stage for the lion king at mandalay bay was built FOR the lion king. It is imo, much better than the LA run. The set pieces and the way they move onstage and the special effects are absolutely supurb. And as has been mentioned, it's leaving soon! I highly recommend it! - WhyIsTheRumGone   68.6 #4499 12-28-11 11:15AM Like(3)  Reply
As much as I love Disney, it's hard to beat a good Beatles show. - Mouse4life   1850.9 #112 12-28-11 10:22AM Like(2)  Reply
Lion king is one of the best shows in Vegas...and we live in Nevada, so you can trust us. - GusGus   796.8 #287 12-28-11 7:19PM Like(1)  Reply

When I saw Love in Vegas the sage broke and we only saw half to show. At least our tickets were refunded. And Lion King I saw on Broadway. It was AMAZING! Not sure if the Vegas cast is different though. - JessicaRabbit33   670.3 #360 12-28-11 9:04AM Like  Reply
I saw The Lion King in LA and it was amazing! I'd love to see it again. I'm also not a Beatles fan so that's one I'd skip. - KissDclown   1089.2 #212 12-28-11 9:06AM Like  Reply
Both are amazing shows from what I've heard. However, when Broadway shows are in Vegas there is a time limit and sometimes the show is cut to fit the time frame. I know they did that to Avenue Q when it was there. Just be prepared that it might not be the full Broadway production. - Gia   802.2 #284 12-28-11 9:07AM Like  Reply
They did that to Phantom too. I refuse to see it in Vegas because of that. Phantom is my favorite. - KissDclown  1089.2 #212 12-28-11 11:28AM
Wow seems like I'll be tossing a coin up in the air for a final decision lol. They both sound pretty good. Thanks everyone for your opinions..I have a few hours to decide..should be interesting lol - LuvsMimisHouse   515.8 #483 12-28-11 9:07AM Like  Reply
We saw The Lion King in Vegas back in September, and it was outstanding.  Your decision might be swayed according to which day you are arriving in Vegas, since The Lion King ends its successful run at Mandalay Bay on Dec. 30, 2011. - susieQzee   555.8 #437 12-28-11 10:20AM Like  Reply
Oh wow I didn't know it ends Friday..thanks for the info. - LuvsMimisHouse  515.8 #483 12-28-11 10:59AM

My husband and I have gone to see Love 5 times and it's amazing everytime. If you like the Beatles you'll love the show. Ive seen the Lion King 2 times once in Vegas and another when it was in LA a few years ago. It's a very good show and worth watching at least once. We got discount tickets to see Love with our players card when we went in October. We got good seats for about 80 instead of 100+. And just to let you know we've seen it in different areas in the theater and even the cheapest seats are good ones. We've seen all Cirque shows in Vegas and Love is the best one in my opinion. - Salfam   216.0 #1948 12-28-11 12:50PM Like  Reply
I've seen most of the shows here in Vegas, LOVE is my absolute fave-The Beatles are my all time favorite band. KA and The Lion King are good, so is Le Reve at the Wynn. 😊 - donaldduckgal   6.8 #16289 12-28-11 2:00PM Like  Reply
I paid $125 per ticket to see LOVE.  It was worth every penny and I would have paid double.  Amazing. - NurseDisney   60.2 #4782 12-28-11 6:15PM Like  Reply
I am in Las Vegas as well and I am a beatles fan but show wasn't worth it but the Lion King at the Mandlay Bay was great - LittleMermaidAriel   16.9 #8938 12-28-11 6:32PM Like  Reply

While I liked LOVE, it was definitely not the Cirque performance I was expecting. If you see it, it's more about the music than the typical Cirque elements. If I was going to see a Cirque show I'd much rather see O. Let's put it this way, I probably wouldn't pay to see LOVE again, but I would definitely pay to see The Lion King again!! - Mimmy   1442.4 #150 12-28-11 6:41PM Like  Reply
I live in Vegas and Lion King is phenomenal. Check Tickets Tonight or see if they are running any local specials. If they are I don't mind meeting you so that you can use my ID to purchase your tixs. Maybe that way you could afford both  - MouseMomx3   141.2 #3049 12-28-11 6:57PM Like  Reply
I just looked and Lion King tixs are 2 for 1 for locals. - MouseMomx3  141.2 #3049 12-28-11 7:05PM
Aww thanks alot for offering to use your id for ticket purchase, my boyfriend lives here and in LA so he can get us the locals discount :). The 2 for 1 deal sounds good. Thanks for looking into that! - LuvsMimisHouse  515.8 #483 12-28-11 11:57PM
I saw the lion king back in February and I loved it! I would say go see that - MelB   108.6 #3660 12-28-11 7:00PM Like  Reply
Both are awesome! Love them both! - AndrewsEars   145.8 #2968 12-28-11 7:05PM Like  Reply
Loved the Lion King in LA, but did not get to see it in Vegas. Enjoy NYE, just be careful if you'll be on the strip with all the crazies. - Ht   793.1 #290 12-28-11 7:09PM Like  Reply
Thanks! Oh those crazies are out day and night lol. The boyfriend and I will be at his brothers place..a bit less crazier haha - LuvsMimisHouse  515.8 #483 12-29-11 12:04AM
Honestly, it depends on which "theme" you relate to better. If you are a diehard Beatles fan, go to Love. But if you can watch Lion King 100x and still feel euphoria when you sing "Can you feel the love tonight," go to LK. I saw Lion King on Broadway in NYC and it was one of my favorite nights of my life, haha. But that's simply because of how much I love the movie!  - KylaShea   632.7 #378 12-28-11 7:09PM Like  Reply
Lion king before it goes back to new York! - SinCityChip   31.3 #6438 12-29-11 3:16AM Like  Reply
I saw Beatles 'love' in Vegas last year. Thought it was fantastic. I've also seen the Lion King but it was in Sydney, Australia about 8 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I cried and it gave me goosebumps!! I would recommend them both! πŸ˜ƒ - aussiekate   165.8 #2653 12-29-11 5:20AM Like  Reply
