Sharkbay8's post about memories makes me ask the following question. For those of us who remember when it was just DL and they had the giant lot, what's your best parking lot story? Mine is the time in college we went and couldn't find the car, so we kept wandering around and pushing the alarm button to try and find it. *LOL*
Uggh, people who hit panic to find They give you that paper thing for a reason. If you dont have a pen, your phone has a camera! Sorry, but it KILLS my already bad hearing - CM_Shadowgamer   2672.3 #66 1-12-12 11:24AM Like(1)  Reply
It hurts my dad's ears too. People don't realize how painful it can be :( - Spoonful_O_Sugar  714.0 #335 1-12-12 11:34AM
Bear in mind, this was back in the 90's, folks. Cell phone? No way. Cell phone with camera? Double no way. And, yes, the piece of paper was handy - if the driver remembered it. *LOL* Three college girls roaming the old, giant parking lot and laughing like mad. You know, the one that used to be where DCA is now? ;) - ThatStarWarsKimberly  417.6 #619 1-12-12 1:33PM
my hearing gets wonky too with the alarms! - PrincessDaisy_FU2Rcm  367.6 #720 1-12-12 5:41PM
Umm back in the day before there was DCA cell phones weren't as common as they are now. - Mrsblue  693.1 #347 1-12-12 8:15PM
You also couldn't depend on taking a picture because digital cameras didn't exist either! You'd have to go develop your film and then find the car. 😏 - bluefairy  643.8 #371 1-12-12 8:18PM
And I have to press panic to find my car after going to the grocery store! I always forget! - Mrsblue  693.1 #347 1-12-12 8:20PM
We came for a visit from Washington. And there was my family of 4. My uncles family of 6 and my 2 grandparents. We went to eat at the car. We were parked directly under the monorail and we were able to sit on the monorail cinderblock. We have pictures of that day but only from lunch in the parking lot lol. Also my dad and uncle were being dorks and walking around with their shirts above their keg bellies lol. - ImAlwaysCrazy   674.5 #356 1-12-12 11:49AM Like(1)  Reply
OK, I'm trying to sort out where this went.  Thought I posted in the Hub last night, then couldn't find it, not even with search.  Now it's here, but I don't know where "here" is.  I'm thinking it made it to the Hub, but where it went in between, I have NO idea. *LOL* - ThatStarWarsKimberly   417.6 #619 1-12-12 11:00AM Like  Reply
Love your comment "back in the 90's"... Good Lord I'm old!  My parking lot memories involve cars that had regular keys and no alarms (since I've been going since the 60's!).  Back in those days you actually wrote down the section you parked in on the back of your parking ticket.  If you didn't, you were screwed!  Of course my family always stayed until closing so we usually didn't have trouble finding our car. - msdizmaui   1103.0 #205 1-12-12 1:38PM Like  Reply
Oh, I remember those things, too. The "back in the '90s" was mainly for the ones suggesting we could have used the camera in the phone. Yeah, cars without alarms, and cars without power windows... - ThatStarWarsKimberly  417.6 #619 1-12-12 5:34PM
My husband has a "gift" when parking. I remember going to DL at noon in the summer and parking right smack up front!πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚ - SueBayou   2019.2 #98 1-12-12 1:51PM Like  Reply
I have the same gift. It's uncanny. - MyPark  1298.8 #163 1-12-12 1:52PM
My family rarely went to Disneyland when I was young so when we would go I would get extremely excited and barf! I must have puked in the DIsneyland parking lot 3 or 4 times. After that my parents decided to surprise me when we went. I am happy to report that I no longer puke when going to Disneyland hahahaha :] - littleone   246.4 #1542 1-12-12 7:19PM Like  Reply
I remember when the parking lot was still huge an we had to park way back. We missed the tram and walked the way there. The walk was so horrible to me back then because as a little kid it felt like Disneyland was 🎢so close, so close yet still so far🎢 lol - rbeezy   703.0 #339 1-12-12 7:22PM Like  Reply
Yep I remember the old lot now known as DCA. Never got lost because I wrote it down. I did not have a car alarm nor a cell fon till '98. I had my first AP in '93. I always managed to find a near front parking slot because we went in the afternoon after school - Plumiegirl   10907.9 #11 1-12-12 7:26PM Like  Reply
We used to avoid the lot and parked at DL hotel and monorailed in - mike714   338.1 #819 1-12-12 7:39PM Like  Reply
It was so busy one time, they made us park at the convention center and walk to a tram. 😭😭😭😭😭 - bluefairy   643.8 #371 1-12-12 8:17PM Like  Reply
Candlelight late 90's. I literally got the last parking space in the lot. I might as well have parked on Katella. Going back to my car on the tram my car was all alone & easy to find. I also remember the year Premium APs got to park where Club 33 guests parked. That was sooo nice. Oh...and jumping in puddles when it rained hard! - ythdudette   1593.5 #135 1-12-12 8:24PM Like  Reply
