Big day for me yesterday--I went on a ride with my first Trek road bike! 3 years ago, I bought my husband a road bike as a wedding gift. He has been cycling for years, but I never have (it's a very expensive hobby!). We've been saving since then to buy a buy a bike and gear for me, and the $$ kept being eaten up by bills. When we saw the DL half registration filling up so quickly, we considered taking the money to register and pay for a hotel out of our bike fund, but we decided against it. The half is a single race, and we'll have our bikes for years--seemed like a better way to spend the money. I've been in a workout rut for awhile...just kinda bored. Riding yesterday instilled a new excitement! This is gonna be fun! And we're going to still do a half this year, we'll just do a less expensive one that's closer to home 

It was super-windy yesterday, lol, and it's really hard in the wind! I'm happy with how challenging it is! We have tons of hills, so it's really making me work. I'm thinking about doing a triathlon when (if!) I get good. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  439.2 #288 2-26-12 5:08PM
