I know we have all have a passion for what Disneyland is and stands for. I wanna know what Disneyland does for you, what feeling it brings to you, what drives you to go back again and again? Don't be shy let the family of MW know your true innerchild!! Haha I know I'm just a little anakin trapped in this Vader body πŸ˜ƒ
My dad was diagnosed with cancer, and my friend Marsha gave me a huge pick me up when we meet at Disneyland.. It was a great stress reliever for me. Also for her birthday we went to the Cove and meet up with a great group of MW'ers and then we went to ToT where I screamed to the top of my lungs to release some of that stress.

Disneyland has always and will be a special place for my family and I. When I was younger, we used to go about every year. The exciting feeling of entering those gates and walking towards the castle was a chance for us to leave all of our worries at home and a place to have fun as a family. I remember I wouldn't sleep the night before because I was so excited. Away from the park, I was (and currently still) reading and learning how this magical place was built and amazing people who designed and built everything. Now working at DL and being there about 5 days a week, the magic hasn't worn off in any way. I'm excited to go to work everyday and when I leave, I can't wait to be back. - BaseballMickey   9258.0 #14 3-20-12 3:52PM Like(4)  Reply
Thanks for your comments BaseballMickey_CM. Even though I love DL and go as often as I can, I have wondered how it would be for a CM going every day, as "work". - Stumickey  294.6 #1088 3-20-12 6:03PM
Disneyland is the only reminder of my dad who passed away when I was 2. He bought me plush toys of Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald when I was a baby. He was hoping on taking me to DL when I get a little older. He passed away before he could take me there. So, DL has that special place in my heart. Every time I go there, I could only imagine all those trips we would have gone together. Riding a kiddie or adult ride, I always think of how fun it would've beenn if he was there with me. I still have those plush toys he gave me 22 years ago. I bought my son an annual pass, so we can always go back whenever. - karshla   68.7 #4499 3-20-12 11:22AM Like(2)  Reply
My family went through many hard times during my life, but it always seemed that Disneyland could always bring us together. I also never "went away" for college. I stayed in my hometown, so when we travel to Disneyland I get that excited and happy feeling as if I were coming home after being away. Even when i leave i sometimes shead a tear. Disneyland is absolutely my comfort place....well, it's my home 😊 - AshleyLynn22   791.2 #292 3-20-12 10:18AM Like(1)  Reply
Just the feeling I get when i'm there, walking down Main street hearing all the people talking, the delicious smell in the coffee shop(I don't even drink coffee lol) the sight of Mickey and Walt, hand in hand. Then in Adventureland, the way you feel as though you've been transported to an exotic place. In New Orleans square, the beautiful architecture (and beinets!) And the wonders just go on and on! I love the attractions. And thats what brings me back to DL. (Well, that and dole whips!) - theRealDisneygirlforevr   175.3 #2480 3-20-12 11:24AM Like(1)  Reply
Disneyland is nostalgia, adventure, beauty, and total unadulterated bliss. - Nov181928   39.2 #5754 3-20-12 11:34AM Like(1)  Reply
Disneyland is my escape from reality! We all have jobs and family and drama and Disney helps me get my mind off of everyday problems. As soon as I enter the park my mind forgets the bad things of the day and my smile returns. - MelB   108.6 #3661 3-20-12 3:46PM Like(1)  Reply
I love reading these!! Disneyland evolved as I got older, but a few things have remained. Growing up, our road trip to WDW was my fondest memory. My dad was a workaholic and kind of a -----. Loved him, though. :) It was only away from home and his driven nature that we could see his heart. That resonates with me today, though I hope I'm not a -----. :) I've raised my daughter alone as she has never met her dad...never been married, don't date, don't get financial help. It is what it is. It took me until my daughter was 16 to be able to take her there. I didn't want to have to use a credit card...I am so done with debt. The first day last year when we walked down Main Street arm in arm, I got tears in my eyes. We finally made it. And it was every bit as magical as I had hoped. This year, we went back last week. My daughter and I are more like best friends than mother/daughter. We laugh a little bit louder at Disneyland...we are boundless energy and all my stresses are gone. I thank God he has provided for me and allowed me to spoil my girl a little. :) - PeachKay   311.1 #983 3-20-12 7:04PM Like(1)  Reply
As a child, Disneyland was a fantasy world where I could just be a kid and let my imagination run wild. I always loved my family trips to Disneyland as a child. When I moved to SoCal in 2006, I did not have any friends. I reverted to taking solo trips to Disneyland and never felt alone. It was that sense of being a part of something bigger than myself and being somewhere everyone loved and enjoyed. Now I have tons of friends (who also love Disneyland) and a family who I can share these experiences with.

It is a great bonding time with my son. That is the only reason I always plan Disney vacations. I am capable of doing it on my own. But wouldn't go as often. - EmperorsHandLelundrial   1106.3 #207 3-20-12 10:06AM Like  Reply
That's what I'm saying that's so awesome!! This will be my daughters 1 year and she is so expressive she is gonna freak out :)) - VADERonSOARIN  543.0 #452 3-20-12 10:12AM
This may also help give you hints as to who she takes after. My son clearly takes after me. I first took him when he was 2, and he napped that time. The next time he was 3 and didn't nap at all. 2 full days and no naps. He and I both can also go for hours without a break. If we have never travelled together at all, I would have no clue as to how he could behave. Enjoy these years, soon she will be to embarrassed to be seen with you. :P - EmperorsHandLelundrial  1106.3 #207 3-20-12 2:03PM

In all honesty, I've been going to Disneyland since I was a kid. Aside from the beach and the mountains, it's one of the places I can go to unwind and let my worries go for a few hours. - Jacqueline  580.0 #411 3-20-12 10:18AM
I never went to DL as a child, (I grew up in VA), but we must've owned a hundred disney movies, we would sing Disney songs all the time (my sister and I won a karaoke contest w/ the Bear Necessities), and just had an overall love for all things truly magical. When I moved to California, I would have the worst bouts of homesickness. I usually get to go back maybe once a year bc flying is so expensive. We had been married two years when we first went to DL, and now I'm a total addict. Although I still miss everybody a lot, I now know I have a home and a family on the west coast. - LittleAprilShowers   589.3 #407 3-20-12 10:21AM Like  Reply
It's my happy place. :-) my parents started taking me when I was 5. We would go every couple of years. My husband purposed to me there. We have a 5 year old princess and a 3 year old prince that have already been many times. I am brought back to feeling like a kid and nothing bothers me when I'm there. It's a break from reality and I love watching my children experience the magic. It makes me smile just thinking of Disneyland. - TigerLily76   265.4 #1354 3-20-12 10:22AM Like  Reply
It's where I go to have 'mommy & me' time. It's the first place my son and I went after my divorce and it was such a great trip. We've kept going regularly ever since. - DisneyRose   247.9 #1532 3-20-12 10:37AM Like  Reply
I just never imagined in this busy fast paced world we live in I could slow down and be a kid again!! After my first trip I just was in awe of the awesomeness and true magic that the park brought and it carried over to all things Disney! I never went as a child but now I get to see my kids excitement and smiles on there face! There is true magic coming out of that kingdom. It's just ahhhmazing!!! - VADERonSOARIN   543.0 #452 3-20-12 11:18AM Like  Reply

Disneyland is Mads and mine hub. When we can't be there, we have so many disney activities and themes, it has provided us with a vast amount of fun, loving times. When we actually are able to go, it feels like we have come back to our second home. - madsdad   1868.2 #110 3-20-12 3:04PM Like  Reply

Disneyland is simply heaven for me :) Everytime I go, I just get this feeling of happiness. The sights, the smells, the attractions, EVERYTHING, makes me feel like I'm home. I've had a lot of problems in my life and when I'm at Disneyland, everything just goes away and nothing can keep me from having a good time :) I just love it! 😊 - AnaheimsMom   244.0 #1580 3-20-12 3:30PM Like  Reply
It is the place I can be a kid with my kids and my wife and I can act like teenagers. My life gets too real sometimes. The things I deal with make me loose the kid inside, Disneyland helps me find the kid inside. - Mr.Mousefamily   37.8 #5841 3-20-12 3:57PM Like  Reply
Disneyland makes feel like a child again.  Every time I walk thru the underpass of the train I get this giddy, butterflies in my stomach, can't control my emotions feeling.  I literally start to jump and skip and my smile is from ear to ear.  As I walk around Disneyland I feel so lucky and blessed to be there. To be where Walt Disney once stood.  There is a definite magical feeling in that park.  I've been to DisneyWorld and the Magic Kingdom and I don't get that feeling there at all. Granted it's fun and I love it but it's not the same.  There is a definite magic within Disneyland. - PirateEngagement   138.0 #3103 3-20-12 4:02PM Like  Reply
It's not so much for, I could live without it. But seeing the pure joy and happiness it brings to my girl (33yr old woman) and my 4 yr old simply priceless and makes me grateful for what Walt did all those years ago. - Art2D2   211.9 #2009 3-20-12 5:13PM Like  Reply
When I go to Disneyland, I leave the world of today and enter the worlds of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy. Disneyland is my escape from what can sometimes be my own personal hell. My mother helps me forget that when I'm at Disneyland. Not only that, but Disneyland is my goal in life. Every time I go, I feel as if I'm getting closer to my goal and also to my childhood that has gone away. Disneyland has never been a family event. Disneyland was my savior and since I don't believe in a god, I've considered Disneyland like my god and heaven. I shall never take granted of such a magnificent place created by a man's dreams and hopes that he was once afraid that no one would be there to see it happen. Thank you Walt Disney - MissAlice   343.5 #805 3-20-12 5:55PM Like  Reply

Disneyland doesn't do my laundry. Disneyland doesn't do my dishes. It doesn't massage my feet. It's always sitting in front of the TV, eating chips and scratching itself inappropriately. Wait. Which Disneyland are we talking about? - Experiment818   1647.2 #129 3-20-12 6:40PM Like  Reply
I wish it massaged my feet! When are they going to install foot massage stations? I'd gladly pay 5 dollars for 5 minutes. :) - PeachKay  311.1 #983 3-20-12 6:58PM
my parents got divorced when I was 14 and it really affected me. right around that time, my mom moved across the country for her new boyfriend w/o saying bye (moving across the country for a BOY!!! smh...) and my childhood home had to get put on the market. throughout all the change in my life, Disneyland was the only static place and it's like my comfort blanket now. I love Disneyland! - mia   130.6 #3228 3-20-12 7:07PM Like  Reply
My mom was 8 months pregnant with me when she first visited D.L. with my older sister. I have a pic of her first visit and it reminds me of how happy my mother was and how much she enjoyed taking my sister and standing tall n proud with her pregnant belly (with me in it) :) - SylSnowWhite   310.1 #994 3-20-12 7:31PM Like  Reply
From the time I was little, I loved to be at Disneyland  ever since I was 5 years old. So... Now that I'm 17, I always saw Disneyland as my safe haven, my sanctuary . It's the place where I'm safe and free. In allowed to be the silliest girl I could ever be  so that's why now whenever I go, I always have to read the sign over the bridge entrance that tells me that I have entered a world full of fantasy  so yea.I love it so much . That's my story - kairi7271   79.1 #4233 3-20-12 7:37PM Like  Reply
