I'll look for this pin in Westward Ho today if we have any. - BaseballMickey_CM2826.5 #16 5-27-12 11:51AMLike Reply
Agreed that standards may be lowered, which is unfortunate considering price increases... This also mucks up the water between genuine pins and lower quality scrappers and fakes. I was really surprised at the quality of pins on trading lanyards on our trip. - cynDOLEwhip744.1 #137 5-27-12 11:55AMLike Reply
Exactly. :( Some CMs even get offended at it, as if the thought is ridiculous and slanderous. I wish Disney would step it up so the program would be back to it's former glory. - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 5-27-12 12:19PM
I received an le 250 pin from Disneystore.com with some awful discoloration. Luckily they were nice about it and replaced it. - Pixarprincess531.4 #215 5-27-12 12:33PMLike Reply
Even though I only have a few pins and don't trade I appreciate these warning. I cant believe these are being sold in the stores. Really something should be done. I know nothing much can be done on the fake market but yes Disney needs to step up. - disneygal366.4 #380 5-27-12 12:42PMLike Reply
Every pin has a problem somewhere on it been collecting for along time well over 1000 pins now it just happens with the color they get scratched you just need to really look over the pin before you buy as for the cm having fakes most of the cast member change them on there breaks or end of the day they throw them away - magicmickey89107.1 #2946 5-27-12 1:17PMLike Reply
Just be careful that with the crowds growing everyday, there are more fake pins being traded with CMs. Personally, I try to take them off my lanyard and inform guests about fakes, but recently, I've received so many that I have to put it back on my lanyard because I run out of pins to offer for trading - BaseballMickey_CM2826.5 #16 5-27-12 1:31PMLike Reply
Sellers on amazon seem to have better lots than on ebay, a little spendier, but.... - madsdad1123.8 #73 6-4-12 8:19PMLike Reply
I'll have to check that out. I've been buying unopened sets of vinylmation pins on EBay to trade because most of them are legit but I'm sick of only trading vinylmations. - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #108 6-4-12 8:25PM
It's so true! I bought a Rapunzel pin a few months ago at World of Disney and when I got home I realized part of the silver and paint was chipped off the top and you could see the underlying metal of the pin! I never returned her out of laziness and the fact that you can't really see it when she's pinned on a lanyard but she totally looks fake and cheap because of it. - LaneSparrow316846.9 #108 6-4-12 8:23PMLike Reply
