I have to say, when I first heard that DCA was getting a makeover I was pretty upset. You see I am a proud Californian and I took it personal! I loved DCA the way it was. But man I am so grateful for the transformation! Carsland is so cool. I need more time to really take it in Can't wait to ride Luigi's. The other two rides were so much fun. Can't wait to ride RSR at night. Walking down BVS reminds me of my grandmother. In the 30's she was a servant for a family in the ritzy area of LA, maybe Hancock Park? Anywhoo, I remember her talking about the days of dressing up to go "uptown" and "downtown" and fancy department stores with restaurants inside. Window shopping and Sunday strolls. I wish she was well enough to take to BVS, I think she would really enjoy the walk down memory lane. :-). I only went in one store, i cant wait to explore more next time. But what I saw was amazing. On another note, I didn't see any street people like the lady in the bike, cop, etc, like I saw in pics during the opening. Are they still around? All in all DCA seems like a full park now. Thank you Imagineers and all that approved the calculated risks to get this done!
My mom worked in Hancock park in the 60s-70s so I know the ritzy glamour. They still roam around, not always but I've seen them plenty of times to know they are still around. I agree, I was like why are they changing it? It's great just as is. Wow, what a transformation! It looks great, love it! I do miss the splash area where mater's jamboree is though. New DCA kicks old DCAs butt! 😜I love the new feel of the park. It still needs a few upgrades (like muppets) but I like that I can spend the whole day in DCA without feeling like I missed something by not going to DL. - SueBayou  2012.0 #35 8-9-12 10:37AM Like(1)  Reply
