Please don't hate something I am going to say but it has been bugging me. If someone just starting posts something, they get attacked and not playfully either. For example, I posted and asked a question while I was at the parks and got crap about asking that question. It does hurt when someone asks a question there's a possibility of getting reamed for it.
There are some days that I feel that if you don't have a high ranking, you will get chastised by the higher ranks.
I want to be able to enjoy myself since we live over 400 miles away but the times when we get "put down" by higher ups it's more like bullying.

I'm sick of the "high ups" being referred to as bullies. There is nothing wrong with folks that have been around longer than you, letting you know you've failed in following the rules. If you actually read the FAQs and Rules most if not all the new folks questions could easily be answered. Same thing with using the search feature. I think I would agree with both sides here. Sometimes those of us who have been here longer forget newbies don't necessarily known the "unwritten rules" or maybe have a different understanding of what quality content is... but this comes with time!I'm kind of inbetween so I see both sides here. I know I got hammered one post early in my MW tenure for referring to the Haunted Mansion as the Haunted House. At first I was somewhat offended but I realized people were just trying to help. I've done the same things to newbies who refer to attractions as rides... There are a ton of things, but we all must remember to be kind and if we are correcting or informing others and to do so with kindness and a generous amount of emoticons :) We're trying to make this a better place! With newbies I know we have to call the out on the message board, but perhaps use DM at times (when MW rank allows) so as not to embarrass when possible...We should be aware of how we come across and if you have been offended show grace and realize perhaps it's just a miscommunication. What I am trying to understand is how can a group of people define what "quality content " is because obviously you idea of that will be different then mine or anybody else's idea of that. I think people need to remember this is suppose to be an app were everyone can share the love that they have for Disney rather it be memories pictures etc. i think we need to embrace all different types of post rather it be questions comments statements or pictures. I think the bickering makes it even more family like. Just joking, but there are disagreements within every family. Many of us have been on MW since it's inception. We have seen and been told by admin, the creator, what is quality content and many MW'rs have been thanked and recognized by him. There are good points here and some bad ones. I think the point to drive home here is have fun and try not to take things to heart. Regardless of weather or not they realize or admit it, there are some ppl who just jump down your throat and feel entitled to do so. It's the internet, those ppl will always be there. Ignore them. I think it's also is important to realize many people stumble upon the Lounge. I had this app on my phone for 10 months before I discovered the lounge. I had the app just for the wait times (this is mouse wait). So to come on here and start posting pics of a hidden Mickey you thought you saw in your coffee would be considered quality content to the person who just has the app on their phone for wait times. This app means different things to different people who use this app for different reasons :) ...oh does this mean I have to stop posting my countdowns? p.p.s. i don't JUST cling on to my countdowns. every once in a great while a countdown poll may be asked, but to see pic after pic of your countdown screenshot takes away valueable bandwidth of posters IN the park. You will see...when you go to the park, take awesome pics and 💢BOOM💢buried under Googled pics, Info that has not been searched or was tried and was posted without proper subject in the post itself. Stick around the lounge a while and they'll annoy you too. 😂I get what you're saying, but that's why the best thing to do is kind of lay low and observe the interactions before jumping right in. In a real life social situation, that's generally how people behave. Take the time to feel the waters out first. So this is how I see the MW app... Like my family. A bunch of siblings poking fun at each other, but will have your back when the time calls. The MWers with the higher ranks... they are the older brothers and sisters in this family. I picked up quickly on the sarcasm and light-heartedness of these fine people. And some have corrected me on some of my posts in the past. You know what I did? Rubbed some cream on my hurt butt, AND MOVED ON. I learned from it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with constructive criticism. It makes you stronger. To the "higher ups," "bullies," or whatever you want to call them... thank you for making this app what it is today. I remember when I first started posting pictures. I got attacked and I cried myself to sleep every night. Now that I lived through that and learned, I only cry myself to sleep on odd number days. Hopefully someday, I will get to the point where I can only cry on the weekends or maybe when I walk by WoC foreveralone status during the "So Close"/"Dad?..... dad?" scene. I think I'm getting better at it. But I will continue to follow the rules, while accidentally breaking some - either way, I'll hear about it. Thank you for this post! What people often forget when they post on public forums is that they are representing themselves. Also, when you do open yourself up to a public site, be open minded to different opinions and perspectives, especially a forum like MouseWait where people actually KNOW each other, and not just via the interwebs. The "meetup" aspect of MW is what sets this place apart from other social media and Disney-related sites. I have only been able to attend one meetup but I was so lucky to meet such amazingly nice and humorous people - Marsha, Lilo, Armenda, and DeltaChiq to name a few. I have to say its nice to have other's fighting for the quality of this app. After almost three years of being one of them, with little to no back up from where it really counts. It gets tiring when that makes you the "evil" person in the app---no matter how nicely to advise. I've tried to also do it in nice ways with the 101's, but the people who need to never pay attention or I end up with hate mail. Don't give up. The people who clog the lounge with whatever they want to post, because they think it's Disney related, never stick around. It is an never ending battle, and I get called a bully, and I have new users try to argue with me when they have no clue what they're prattling on about. I'm probably going to hit 200 next week too (through quizzing... I live 12 hours away and there is no other way:) ) but I've only needed to report a post once since I started being on the Lounge in April. In that case everyone saw it too and I asked a higher rank to report it on my behalf, which they did and it was taken down. Posts that need to be reported should be reported b multiple people. I am grateful for the LIVE pics and wonderful tips and tricks I've learned for making my vacations even more magical. I look forward to the super late night pictures that are posted by lucky MWers who get to stay at the parks until closing... until MouseWait I never knew it was even possible for guests to stay and snap a photo of an empty Main Street or the castle. I comment on a LOT of beautiful pictures almost every day... I have posted a few times since I joined in May and each time I was responded to with kindness. Thank you for taking the time to post this information for those who choose to ignore the pop-up when you download the app which tells the new person to read the rules and FAQs prior to posting to the lounge. To all of you on here that have been here awhile and are getting frustrated with standing up for MW, what you are doing is working, if not, most of the great people here would be gone. SOS and SIC I feel so bad for you right now, you sound totally exhausted and I am sorry you are having such a hard time with it because you should know you always give quality content, even when correcting people. And the whole rank thing is simple people being petty and ignorant and probably a bit jealous too because they see so many of you with great friendships. plus the facebook effect where everyone thinks they are instantly well known and the most important does not help. I think too many people read into posts without understanding what is really going on and some people use the bully word too much. Correcting someone, telling someone the rules, or even laughing at auto correct is not bullying.
