I don't usually weigh in on topics like this, however I do get to go to a few deliveries and I always ask the what the name is. Some are out there in my opinion (but I'm not the parent). ABC did a show on names. People that were very well educated, but had very unusual or ethnic names, were NOT getting jobs. ABC changed the name on the resume (all were online), and one woman had 15 requests for interviews in 30 min. Unfortunately, despite the "diversity" in the American culture, people are still very judgmental by preconceived ideas about a name. The Internet keeps the face to face contact for last. It is the first gift a parent gives a child. - Sugarbuzz 272.2 #1180 8-24-12 5:45AMLike(1)Reply

Not that I plan on having a kid anytime soon but I've been hoarding potential girl names! Anabelle (belle), Ariel, Violet, Giselle, Wendy, Alice, Bianca, Jane, Jasmine, Olivia and Willow are all potentials in my book. - mermaidhair 176.3 #2342 8-23-12 10:46PMLikeReply

Im going to name my 1st future daughter Isabel...after my grandfather...call her Bel for short...i want to spell it "Isabelle" so it would be obvious her nickname is because of 'Belle' - bellerie 22.2 #7175 8-23-12 11:02PMLikeReply
My niece's favorite movie of all time is Sleeping Beauty. She decided when she was about 10 that she would name her daughter Aurora. That was about 15 years ago. Our Aurora will be 1 this month! - GrandCircleTour 363.8 #651 8-24-12 1:19AMLikeReply

I knew a girl in high school named Diamond and her last name was Ring. Then we also had a Rusty Nail. Go figure. Crazy parents. Then my sister named her 3 kids Dallas, Dakota, and Cheyenne. - Sharkgrrl19 256.5 #1325 8-24-12 7:05AMLikeReply

My mother named me Tiana, I have always loved it because it means princess. Plus I never really cared for mugs or keychains, I just usually bought the one that said princess! - PrincessTianaCM 221.0 #1764 8-24-12 10:54AMLikeReply
My name and my husband's name are both from Peter Pan coincidentally. - Alicewhoareyou 2705.7 #54 8-25-12 10:09PMLikeReply
Ha! Kshea970! ABC, interesting. And, it good to know that not everyone feels bad about not seeing their name on a key chain! I was concerned about that when naming our kids! I wondered if it mattered! Two of my kids don't have commonly spelled names, but they all told us they love their names, so we're happy!😊 - 7mouskedoodles 371.6 #629 8-25-12 10:30PMLikeReply
