When I was four, I was diagnosed with a very brittle case of juvenile diabetes which also triggered epilepsy. An adult neighbor once asked me why it happened. I think she wanted to know the medical reason for it, but at four, I didn't know that answer. So I told her, "'Cuz God knows what's gonna make me the best that I can be." While my problem in no way compares to what your cousin is going through, I know that the truth still applies. She's going to come out of this stronger and be an amazing person because of it.
