Three years ago today MouseWait was approved by Apple and made its debut in the App Store! Several weeks before that, we went to Disneyland to test the app, and I remember sitting in the lobby of the Grand watching as the test wait times registered in the admin panel. I was somewhat surprised because after a year of struggling to build the app, it appeared to be ready for submission. I remember telling my good friend Robert, who was there with me that day, "hey, this thing actually works?" (And yes, I said that in a surprised tone)! The day MouseWait was approved, we nervously rushed to the Park to try to keep the wait times current. I didn't know how people would react to the app, or if it would even work on a large scale. Through the grace of God, MouseWait quickly became the most popular Disneyland app in history and the community began to grow by leaps and bounds. Over the past three years, I've had the great privilege of meeting and getting to know so many amazing people that I would not have met otherwise. From the original group that started it all back in 2009, to the new groups that are thriving and growing daily, I'm still amazed at the generosity and sincerity of the entire community. I love hearing the stories about how MouseWait has brought people together in times of need, and the friendships that have been created -- I would've never guessed back in 2009 that this would happen. My family is truly blessed to be a part of this community. Thank you to everyone who has invested their time and money into MouseWait, I really appreciate what you've done. Those of you who've consistently put in wait times, posted live pics, spread the word, planned events, and contributed in other ways. I sincerely appreciate your contributions and you are the reason why MouseWait has thrived over the past three years. I look forward to seeing you this weekend as we celebrate not just an app, but people like you who've made MouseWait what it is today!
Its crazy to think that its been 3 years. It honestly feels a lot longer..Its amazing at how big the community has gotten since the very first meetup..The life long friendships, the dreams that have come true, and the laughter that we all have in the parks on a daily basis.Its so neat to see all these meetups on a daily basis that get up to 80 people and happen not only at the parks but all over the state of California..Its pretty crazy to think that none of us would probably have ever met if it were not for this app...There are not many of us from the beginning who still actively post on MouseWait or attend meetups but I know that each and everyone of them is extremely grateful for the people who have been brought into their lives because of this app....I know some people might get annoyed at times by people posting in the lounge and their countdowns to the park, what is your favorite ride, etc etc but you have to remember, you were once that new kid on the block that was just as excited to post in the lounge and join in on the fun and not read the FAQ....I look forward this weekend seeing old friends and meeting new ones and finally getting the chance to meet some of you that I've seen in the lounge for sometime but never had the chance to meet in person....Hope everyone has a fun a weekend!!! Thanks to Mousewait: I think leggings and uggs are a viable fashion choice, I tried (and failed) to eat a Matterhorn sundae by myself, I know who Denny Hamlin is, I know where all the bars are in the resort, I've had many sleepless nights and a phone fall on my face more than once, I know about penny wise and honey badgers and Rebecca black and gangnam style and hidin yo kids, I witnessed a banana peeled, I own vinylmations and pins and earhats and about $1000 worth of crap from company d. Yeah, thanks. 😏 Actually, I have a lot to thank MW for: late night craft frenzies, staying up all night talking in our hotel rooms, going to WDW with people I barely knew 6 months, realizing that we know everyone on our floor, pizza parties, group texts, squeezing 40 people on a jungle cruise boat and making the skipper laugh too hard to spiel, going to gay days and bats day and dapper day and Harry potter day, answering "80" when the cm asks "how many?" and then watching them panic, reading about the MW babies being born and watching them grow up and finally being tall enough to ride the big kid rides, skipping down main street arm in arm like a bunch of doofuses, ☔ on pirates, dressing up like plaids and getting a talking to by security, meat babies, laying on the ground to watch fireworks, having someone text "are you home safely?" at 2am, and always being there for you, even when life sucks. Touching story admin! Thank you for all of your hard work! It's hard to describe how much this app means to me. I was sooo nervous moving across the state to go to school and thankfully for mousewait, I have a REALLY large extended family that I love and can rely on! I mean, I met my best friend though MW, and this weekend a MWer offered to brig me soup because I was sick. This is great and with out MW I doubt we would know so many great people. And that I would have such great friends only a little more then a year ago I had no friends that Lived close enough to hang out with every weekend, yet alone everyday. And now I do have many friends to hang out with and spend time with them both inside and out side of Disneyland. Thank you for all the hard work you do here, sir. I've met a lot of really cool people that I can actually relate to because of this app and it's all thanks to you. I'm also lucky enough to have made friends here that I can hang out with outside the parks on an almost daily basis. To many of u I am a newbie but downloaded this app last yr. Just like many of u looking for a Disneyland app. And I loved it, checking wait times, see if I was blocked out and see where to eat. I'd pop into the lounge but never got a username, to shy. But last yr I had 2 miscarriages and on those days when all I wanted to do was cry, I'd reach for my phone and open up MW and look at all the wonderful DL pics u all posted and I'd get myself up and take my son to that Magical place and to see him happy would make me smile. Thanks Admin for creating this wonderful app! I have been a stay home mom for so many years and I really let myself go..through this app I was inspired to lose the weight, talk to strangers (even though i was so nervous) and and pretty much find myself again.. Now I'm involved as a parent volunteer in 2 schools and helping out in my community. Thank you again and thank you MWers for being so wonderful to myself and my family!
