News!! For those that are planning on going to the 124th annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena on jan 1 2013(so lucky I work in front of it so I see it every year.) "Disney formally announced its plans this past week to enter a Cars Land-inspired float in the 124th annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. The Cars Land float will feature a bouncing tire from Luigi's Flying Tires, a bubbling "Original Radiator Spring," a real waterfall, baby tractors (complete with puffing smoke), a re-creation of Ornament Valley, the Cozy Cones, and Cars characters Lighting McQueen, Salley, Luigi and Guido in floral representations.
Sooo awesome!!! I can't wait!!! This is a family tradition of ours that spans 4 generations and over 70 years!!! We have had the same spot the whole time. You don't mess with my family and our "spot" or else! We get to start marking it in a couple of weeks and my aunt goes a few times a week until the parade to make sure it's still ours!!! Starting 2 days before the parade, we are allowed to guard our spot without having to leave. We all rotate 8 hour shifts. It's quite the process but sooo worth it!!! We are just after the last overpass of the 210 at Sierra Madre. We are about a mile or so from the end. Every year we hold up a sign that says "You're Half Way There" 😁😁😁 The looks on the poor marching band kids faces are priceless!! - caramiapoohAKAface  1437.6 #54 10-29-12 9:32PM

We are right before the handicap section. We have about 6 rows of chairs, around 120 seats! Our group has gotten so big that we have a seating chart now!! haha ill be in the streets everyone that stays at my hotel is there for the parade so i am basically off all day since everyone is out watching the parade. seeing it in person is really a different experience then on tv the only thing is the floats do look smaller in person then they do on tv my opinion. do you ever go to the park were they have the floats so you can take pictures ? its up sierra madre i believe? - Hendizl  1299.7 #62 10-29-12 9:45PM

This is sooo cool!! I do the begonia festival in Capitola, CA. Every year and its similar concept to the rose parade but we use begonias and the float down the river! Knowing how much work goes into my lil floats I make I'm always so in awe of the rose parade floats just getting a glimpse at all the work that goes into it!! Will have to watch as usual!! I live about 3 hrs away and have never been able to go and see it all live. Hopefully one day I will. Does anyone know how the seating for this parade works? Is it free? First come first serve? YEs it's free. Except the bleachers seating. It's first come first serve. Day gets crazy so people are there couple days or weeks before reserving spot.^^ check out the first comment there's allot of more info good luck. Don't try booking rooms that day they are crazy expensive. Unless its far from the parade. If you want a good spot, you have to start marking your spot in the next couple of weeks and continue to mark it several times a week until Jan 1st. There are A LOT of rules of what you can and cannot do to save your spot! Some people show up the day before and try for a spot, but its slim pickens and you have to sleep out over night to save it! You can always try and show up the morning of but you won't get a close up spot. You can try for the bleacher seats, but they cost $$!! Good luck!! - caramiapoohAKAface  1437.6 #54 11-1-12 7:47PM
