Good morning MW!! Hopefully I'll be at the parks tomorrow and meet some of you! Until then, we found this Disney Song book in my grandpas stuff (read about my gramps, bob jackman, on my profile) it's signed to him but we don't know by who!! It says, "Bob, thanks so much for your help. Hope you enjoy this new book." Paging Disney experts (dave? Strawberrys?)...does anyone have any ideas? Have a great day!

That set of Roman numbers equals 1975 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3134.5 #26 11-13-12 11:28AM Like(1)  Reply
Looking it up, someone is selling what they call the 1st edition ( this book) but says it's from 1979 , which is really when the second edition came out. A quick look at the Roman numerals and they could see that they are really selling a 1st edition.) Anyways, no idea about that signature. Looks like a J. Then again, I don't know. Hope someone does - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3134.5 #26 11-13-12 11:36AM
oh dear. that was just confusing and of no help - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3134.5 #26 11-13-12 11:37AM
Ha, no I got it! As soon as I see it in person (going thru the stuff on sat) i might have a better idea. It's really hard to tell what the first letter is... - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 11:42AM
on my iPad it gets pixelated, but it almost looks like Jim - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3134.5 #26 11-13-12 11:48AM
Yeah, I'm thinking Jim or Bill. Something short - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 11:50AM
Did your grandfather help on the songbook? As an investigator I would suggest narrowing it down by who he was working with at the time and the folks who created the songbook. Then match the names to what appears to be a J in the first name. - Sharkgrrl19  225.7 #1482 11-13-12 11:49AM Like(1)  Reply
are you an investigator? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3134.5 #26 11-13-12 11:50AM
Yes. I do fraud investigation. - Sharkgrrl19  225.7 #1482 11-13-12 11:59AM
So I was being serious. I sometimes have to decipher signatures. - Sharkgrrl19  225.7 #1482 11-13-12 12:00PM
Ha, that's awesome. I knew you guys could help me :) I'll know much more on Saturday when I can get some more info...thanks! - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 12:02PM

My grandpa was the head of the music dept at Disney for 30 years or so... :) - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 12:03PM
So can you tell that I'm a big fraud and I don't actually rock? So far no has noticed - Philliprocks  616.9 #242 11-13-12 12:10PM
Lol! Too funny PRs. I will save my judgement on you for when I actually meet you at the parks! - Sharkgrrl19  225.7 #1482 11-13-12 1:45PM
Ooooh fun! I just subscribed to this post. I wanna know who it is and who actually figures it out. - Philliprocks  616.9 #242 11-13-12 12:12PM Like(1)  Reply
I couldn't resist the chance to research! It could be Jimmy Johnson, who was the GM of Walt Disney Music up until his retirement in 1975. Found this: http://disney.go.com/disneyinsider/mobile/history/legends/jimmy-johnson - Gia  801.8 #169 11-13-12 1:11PM Like(1)  Reply
Oops...he was GM in 58 and was President from 1970-75. - Gia  801.8 #169 11-13-12 1:22PM
Yes, Gia! I totally just found that too. I bet that's it :) - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 1:30PM
Hope you find out. How cool - Mrs.mouse  513.8 #316 11-13-12 11:25AM Like  Reply
I'm not a signature expert by any means, but what I have seen of Disney's signature and writing samples, it is mostly in cursive with the occasional print letter. This appears to be a mostly print inscription with a little cursive. Then again, I'm no expert!! ☺ - DisneyDavidEMT  1198.4 #96 11-13-12 11:43AM Like  Reply
And also the fact that Walt passed away in 1967.... - IDVandalSkipperCM  1895.8 #58 11-13-12 11:46AM
Yeah, it's not Walts ;) bummer - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 11:48AM
Very cool find. Hope you find out who signed it. - jlipstone  280.6 #891 11-13-12 11:49AM Like  Reply

I would take this picture and email it to Dave Smith at the Disney Archives and see if they can easily tell you who it might be - Dave  10462.9 #2 11-13-12 12:05PM Like  Reply
Yes! I knew you would know, haha. Happen to know where I can get his email address? thanks!! - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 12:07PM
Well, i found where you can email him. Great to know! I'm gonna be bugging him a lot, i think :) I'll ask him if he can receive pics... - MissMolly  1144.9 #103 11-13-12 12:12PM
