Disneyland Talk
This Land is for Disney talk only

FROM the OCregister.com...... Disney is in the early stages of designing the look for the classic Main Street's Market House for when Starbucks comes in next year, said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. The Market House will temporarily close for renovations sometime next year and re-open with Starbucks products in late 2013. Since opening in 1955, Market House has offered free coffee refills. Visitors who keep their receipts can return for another cup of basic brew any time during the same day. Disney hasn't said yet whether Starbucks will honor the tradition. Ginger Miller, of Chatsworth, said she is upset about the prospect of Disneyland changing Market House, especially the possibility of halting the free refills. She started a Facebook page, "Save Free Coffee Refills at Market House Disneyland." Miller, an annual passholder, heard about the changes from an employee and is urging others to write to Disneyland to keep alive the tradition. "My sincere hope is that Disneyland will find a way to bring in Starbucks but keep the magic," Miller said in an email. "It is a good tradition and one of the many reasons Disneyland holds a place in my heart that no other theme park could ever fill." In April, the company announced that it would add six Starbucks in its Florida and Anaheim parks. The first Disney Starbucks opened in June at Disney California Adventure within the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Café. The café often has a long line, with most drink prices higher than Starbucks stores outside the park.
I love Starbucks. But I think they should look for another location in the parks for a Starbucks and leave the market house alone. Put it somewhere near IASW so people can get hot drinks over in that section of the parks. - Waites4DodgerEars   970.1 #158 12-7-12 10:37AM Like(11)  Reply
I agree - ScooterMike  1961.4 #61 12-7-12 10:40AM
that is a great idea, put it somewhere that does not already have a lot of traffic - Dave   11414.2 #2 12-7-12 10:56AM
I agree too. I love Starbucks as well but leave Market House alone. - KissDclown  1089.3 #135 12-7-12 3:25PM
Although not our choice, I would really prefer it remain The Market House. We may not be able to live in 1955 forever, and as Walt said "Disneyland will never be completed." But, this is a part of the park that should be nostalgic, remind us all of tradition. I would gladly grab a Starbucks on my way home when I'm back in the real world. - Alicewhoareyou   1130.4 #126 12-7-12 10:42AM Like(7)  Reply
I couldn't agree more. I wasn't pleased when they put the Starbucks in DCA either. - lizzie2thelou  48.9 #4383 12-7-12 11:15AM
The Market House needs to remain as is. It is part of the original park. I have so many memories of going in and listening to the conversations on the phones inside the store. - Diznimom  215.7 #1662 12-7-12 1:36PM
I will be very disappointed if we lose the cinn tea latte they have at the Market House and the free refills. Perhaps Jolly Holiday has the cinn tea but I didn't see it on their menu. I'm in support of the vintage, nostalgia remaining. - MamaRoo   466.4 #393 12-7-12 1:23PM Like(1)  Reply
I keep forgetting to try this - PrincessDuckie  728.7 #217 12-7-12 1:39PM
I don't coffee and Cinnamon tea Latte saves me on cold nights. I don't want it to go away. - iamdugsmaster  878.7 #171 12-7-12 3:00PM
I will be writing my letter. SAVE MARKET HOUSE! Thanks for the info Dave! - Duchess_SMK   5676.3 #14 12-7-12 1:47PM Like(1)  Reply
Starbucks does not belong in Disneyland at all IMHO. - goofygal   6976.9 #7 12-8-12 9:57AM Like(1)  Reply
Maybe they'll at least do $.50 refills like a normal Starbucks - Mouse4life   1150.2 #120 12-7-12 10:37AM Like  Reply
But doesn't the Market House give free refills now? - dessertLOVER  145.1 #2638 12-7-12 11:06AM
Starbucks in DCA is priced like airports & hotels. I think there are plenty of other places to put one. By IASW is a great idea W4DE - ShariRenee   4201.8 #21 12-7-12 10:58AM Like  Reply
With a premium AP discount it is actually a few cents cheaper. - KissDclown  1089.3 #135 12-7-12 3:27PM
Not a fan of their over-roasted beans. :/ But what's one little guy going to do? - PeachKay   311.1 #743 12-7-12 1:20PM Like  Reply
There's a Starbucks in DCA?? - sleepyhead_CM   572.2 #302 12-7-12 1:48PM Like  Reply
You're either joking or you really are a sleepyhead. 😜😝 - Alicewhoareyou  1130.4 #126 12-7-12 1:56PM
I think they should put it with Marvel Land over in Six Flags. - ScubaSteve028   835.7 #184 12-7-12 2:04PM Like  Reply
LEAVE MARKET HOUSE ALONE! Seriously, they have one of the only hot beverages I enjoy at the parks and we don't need another Starbucks. If people have to get their fix so bad, they should have opened in DTD. - CM_Shadowgamer   2360.7 #47 12-7-12 2:16PM Like  Reply
You should make a video. Like the leave Brittany alone guy. But with Market House. - Mouse4life  1150.2 #120 12-7-12 3:18PM
I don't think Main Street should ever be messed with! - MeridaFan   3408.8 #27 12-7-12 3:18PM Like  Reply
Maybe start a petition? I love the market house!!! - minnieMisty   271.8 #1019 12-7-12 3:39PM Like  Reply
if they will start selling SBUX coffee inside Market House, then keep the interior and ambiance the same... Also, offer a free refill for Brewed Sbux coffee. Just don't make it more expensive - otilegna   1792.6 #70 12-7-12 3:52PM Like  Reply
I don't mind Starbucks in the parks, I think they did a nice job at fiddler in terms of keeping it in line with the theming. However, I don't think the market house is the place for it. It's smaller than a lot of existing Starbucks stores and is always busy as is. Adding some Starbucks drinks might be okay... - bluefairy   643.3 #259 12-8-12 11:55AM Like  Reply
Not a total Starbucks fan either. I like just good ol' coffee-flavored coffee. - mightymike   272.8 #1011 12-8-12 12:36PM Like  Reply
