Has anyone ever left their dog at the kennel at Disney? If so, how much was it and how did your dog do at the end of the day?
Yes, we have, but it's been a few years. I think it's a great amenity! It's $20 per day, unless they've raised the price in the last few years. Our dog loved it, and it was good for him. Make sure your dog is trained to heel, sit, settle, etc, because it can be crowded coming through security and on the trams and you don't want him to panic. We walked ours from the parking structure most of the time. It was a great way to socialize him, and everyone wanted to stop and pet him! You need to provide proof of certain vaccinations (listed on the DL kennel web page). One thing they didn't require was kennel cough, but our vet suggested we give our dog that shot because most kennels do require it, and it's better to be safe than sorry. We found the staff to be super-friendly and had a few nice chats--most of them also work over at Big Thunder Ranch. Hope this helps! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 12-13-12 8:01AM Like(1)  Reply
Great info. I have never used Disneyland's kennel but we always get our dog the kennel cough shot a couple of days before we board her. - RadiatorSprings4Ever  135.5 #2512 12-13-12 8:16AM
It certainly does help! Thank all of you for the suggestions and tips! I think we will bring the dog next time and let her experience A little of Disney too next time! (Hey, it's good for Pluto!) - DisneyDavidEMT  447.1 #275 12-13-12 9:33AM
Yes, $20. He was really happy to see us every potty break we gave him. He wouldn't use the outdoor area...it was stinky so we had to walk him to the grass up Harbor. We would do it again. Go early so you can get an upper cage. - Linzee  515.4 #227 12-13-12 7:51AM Like  Reply
Oh and we brought his blanket, fave toy and water bowl. - Linzee  515.4 #227 12-13-12 7:52AM
Just supporting everything already said! We always leave our dog there because my mom is incapable of traveling without her lol. Make sure you bring their bed/blanket and some toys so they feel at home! Also, be prepared to leave the parks every few hours to check on them. They'll be happy at the end of the day if they realize that you'll keep coming back! - KylaShea  533.2 #214 12-13-12 8:27AM Like  Reply
I agree. Nothing but good experiences with our boxers there. - MelodyMouse  941.5 #92 12-13-12 10:07AM Like  Reply
I agree with everyone else! Very clean, the staff is wonderful and while I can't say our dog loves it....we know she's in good hands. And, it's kinda nice to take a break and spend it with your pup! - Gia  782.1 #119 12-13-12 10:21AM Like  Reply
