Thought this was interesting...especially with so many MW Instagram users here. Instagram possibly selling your personal pictures? Link to article

It's "The New Facebook" panic part 2. Plus we all gave them that permission to do whatever they want with our photos when we agreed to use their free service. The Terms of Service have always had the "we can do whatever we want with your photos" since day one. But people choose to complain about it now.... I could be totally wrong, but if they tried to sell one of the pictures I posted at the Parks, they'd have to fight Disney because technically every picture taken at Disneyland - Disney has the rights to.... although you, the photographer own the copyright.... or something like that. - LaTruce   2370.4 #82 12-18-12 1:20PM Like  Reply
Interesting, I wasn't really sure what to make of the article. I do get that once pics are posted on any site you take a risk of seeing yourself posted elsewhere...but the whole no opting out thing seemed new. - Linzee  2148.4 #92 12-18-12 1:25PM
Opting out = deleting your account. It's a free service you're not forced to use. Here's another article . My opinion is that they legally have to put all this stuff in the ToS so that people won't sue when there's an ad (similar to those on Facebook - top right corner)... "caution: contents of coffee mug is hot" - type of thing... Flickr has the same type of ToS, and pretty much all internet photo sites, etc. Facebook is even worse. - LaTruce  2370.4 #82 12-18-12 1:41PM
