LoL. So glad I didn't need the splash guard they had on there. Felt like I needed it the one time I went on but didn't use it. - KermitFan13 407.8 #321 1-10-13 3:43PM

A CM told me they were "scream guards" to cut down on the noise for the surrounding neighborhoods. Yeah. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. - susieQzee 480.9 #247 1-10-13 3:50PM
was this anything like tot? - OhanaPhoto 1415.0 #56 1-10-13 4:07PM
ToT faces away from the neighborhoods - TheNewTrent 530.9 #217 1-10-13 4:09PM
Not sure i buy the whole scream guards thing. You weren't in a bubble! They were vomit shields...lets call them what they were...and they were used quite a bit too! 😷😫😂😂 - DisneyDavidEMT 453.4 #271 1-10-13 4:12PM
I thought that the face shields were to keep the riders from spitting - Plumiegirl 3383.0 #10 1-10-13 6:33PM
That's what I thought too, Plumie! We always called them spit shields, lol - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 1-10-13 7:17PM
@susieQzee-These actually were meant to be scream guards, and the tubes on Screamin' are the same. This helps cancel the sound, as you said, for the neighbors. I love how Knott's doesnt do any of this haha. - BrerRabbit 228.7 #1267 1-10-13 10:51PM
I have friends who live right behind and crazy as it seems you could her screams. Not that scary of a ride compared to any other park or state fair. - ShariRenee 1562.5 #51 1-10-13 11:08PM
This was the attraction my sister worked in 2001. She was so upset that she applied for Fantasyland and got not just DCA, but the Maliboomer. lol - Alicewhoareyou536.3 #210 1-10-13 4:13PMLike(1) Reply
I would have been mad too! Hi!!! - Minnis2Society 360.0 #391 1-10-13 4:19PM
It's amazing how far dca has come. I rememeber going when it first opened and remembering how disappoints I was because I didn't really feel any Disney magic since there was really no Disney themed rides. I'm so glad they decided to go a different direction. - Queenof2princesses254.7 #967 1-10-13 7:14PMLike(1) Reply
I literally don't remember this...I feel like it was during those years where I only made it to Disneyland once, if any times, a year. I like to call those the 'dark ages'. - AvidDisneyThrifter220851.5 #107 1-10-13 7:23PMLike(1) Reply
I loved that ride!!! I wish it was still there. It was better then the forest of potted plants/ smoking area that is there now. - Armenda994.9 #89 1-10-13 11:11PMLike(1) Reply
