Old Man sitting porch of Pirates If The Caribbean
Tagged in: Attraction Pics
His name is Jean Lafitte. He was a pirate in New Orleans in the 1700s and use to hide out in the swamp lands of the bayou. You can find his anchor near the rivers of America, his tavern on TSI, and when you load into pirates take a look up. You are loading at Lafitte's landing :) - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 1-17-13 2:28PM Like(20)  Reply

Shadowgamer one time psted a link that had pages of info on the connections between lafitte, potc, and haunted mansion. It was an awesome read. something like longforgottenhauntedmansion blog spot or something like that. - madsdad  1124.6 #73 1-17-13 2:52PM

And there is a bar in the real New Orleans, The Blacksmith Shop, where Lafitte's and his cronies used to meet. It has no electric lights, just candles, so it closes when the last candle goes out. It can be 2 am or 4:30 am...I can vouch for it! - Gia  785.4 #120 1-17-13 2:56PM
That's awesome Gia! I will have to do when I'm in New Orleans! - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 1-17-13 3:15PM

More info on the oldest. "Structure used as a bar in the US"... http://www.lafittesblacksmithshop.com/AboutUs.html Like most of Lafitte's life, it can be considered a legend, but don't tell the folks in New Orleans that. They also have The Best Hurricanes. And, it's haunted, of course. You definitely need to go Ashley! - Gia  785.4 #120 1-17-13 5:17PM
