Had a dream last night that I was able to take my daughter to Disneyland for her birthday. The dream made me realize that I really need to make this happen for her. Time to work a lot of overtime. Wish me luck MWers! : )

Start a change jar. We put change and dollar bills in a jar and cash it in once a year for one of our trips. Easy way to save without hurting the budget. - sewedna84.6 #3213 1-30-13 11:17PMLike Reply
Ooh good idea! Thank u - emilizle 90.6 #3139 1-31-13 12:08PM
A friend of mine does that, but also adds her grocery store "savings" to the jar. You know how at the bottom of the receipt it says "You saved $13.23 today"? She takes that amount and throws it in the jar, too. She ends up with an amazing amount of money in that jar! - jmgphx 322.7 #510 1-31-13 1:40PM
Every time you start to buy something like Starbucks or fast food etc. stop yourself and think of the look on your daughters face if she was at Disneyland! Then put that money in a jar, it will add up very fast! - ShariRenee1505.6 #51 1-31-13 1:44PMLike Reply
we are using this thinking in saving up for a puppy - Villescas8(V8) 589.1 #185 1-31-13 1:48PM
Great idea V8. Just no SBucks pays for my premium ap and spending money at the parks monthly! - ShariRenee 1505.6 #51 1-31-13 1:53PM
Yes the look on her face would definitely be better than a latte! - emilizle 90.6 #3139 1-31-13 9:36PM
