So I have just booked our flight for my wife and I to visit the park the week of June 10th for our 10 yr anniversary. Two days in the parks with no kids! We are extremely excited. We have never stayed on site before. Which hotel do you prefer, The Grand or Disneyland Hotel?
They are both great. Its a hard choice. I like the grand a little better because of the balcony in the room and the short walking distance but sharirenee makes a great point. Be sure to let the cms know its your anniversary when you book your room, they usually do something extra for special occasions. - Twitterpated   266.8 #1074 4-1-13 11:23AM Like(1)  Reply
Especially for no-kiddo getaway, no doubt about it - The Grand. - tdashgirl   320.1 #709 4-1-13 10:26AM Like  Reply
Disneyland Hotel 😊 - Linzee   892.2 #171 4-1-13 10:33AM Like  Reply
What a great Anniversary trip. We have only stayed at the Grand. It was amazing. - DisneyVacationLover   442.7 #426 4-1-13 10:35AM Like  Reply
Disneyland hotel. Beds are more comfortable, rooms are more fun, and you will save a little money. - happiestplace   105.5 #3312 4-1-13 10:38AM Like  Reply
Depends on what you want to spend. I love both, The Grand is more luxurious but DLH is wonderful too and nostalgic. The difference in price can get you a wonderful dinner at Napa Rose. - ShariRenee   4349.8 #20 4-1-13 10:44AM Like  Reply
Disneyland hotel definitely! - waltfan   241.8 #1341 4-1-13 10:51AM Like  Reply
Shari that is a great idea. - Mickey_Badge   246.3 #1269 4-1-13 10:58AM Like  Reply
Make reservations soon for hotel and Napa. For a special evening do Vintner's dinner (wonderful) or chef's table. What a great way to celebrate an anniversary! - ShariRenee  4349.8 #20 4-1-13 11:16AM
I love both ! I love the true Disney feel of Disney Hotel plus I like walking through Downtown Disney and seeing everything. I like the close proximity of Grand California after a loooong day in the park (or if I have to go back because I forgot something) - fab5   35.5 #4953 4-1-13 11:11AM Like  Reply

Depends on what you're looking for. The decor of the rooms in the Grand is rather plain to me, it's like many other such hotels, but maybe you like hanging out on the balcony in the morning and proximity to the parks. If you get a park view room, you might be able to watch WOC. You could also book services at the mandara spa for some pampering. Disneyland hotel is special for it's disney magic. The headboard and the pool are fantastic. View-wise, you might be able to see the fireworks, I think. - bluefairy   643.3 #260 4-1-13 1:32PM Like  Reply
Thank you for all of the ideas. After doing some reading we are also going to throw in Paradise Pier into the mix. We want the magic of disney in our stay but also throw in some extra little things. - Mickey_Badge   246.3 #1269 4-1-13 1:48PM Like  Reply
I've never been in a regular guestroom at pp, only the suites, so I can't comment on the room itself. However, nice views of dca (and WOC). You can walk across the street through the grand to get to dtd and the parks. - bluefairy  643.3 #260 4-1-13 2:12PM
