Since I was so excited to have learned so much about DLR and DCA this weekend, thought I'd share some trivia bits now and then. Other CMs, please feel free to join in with things from your area. 1- when entering Buena Vista St, you are transported to LA in 1923. By the end of Buena Vista St, you are in LA in 1937. #DCAtrivia

The bride that you cross under is the "timeline." The area before is 1923, with the buildings and designs. After the bridge is 1937 with the more Art Deco style. - idoit4mickeyCM  26.4 #5309 4-23-13 9:52AM Like(2)  Reply

OH! or how paradise bay acts like a real bay! It may be hard to notice but the water does rise and fall throughout the day as it would in a real bay. So in the morning the water is shallow, middle of the day it'll be full, and in the evening it will be shallow again :) - CMallyg92  108.7 #3177 4-23-13 2:37PM Like(1)  Reply
I've noticed that before and thought I was crazy!!! - MousekaNinja  414.7 #442 4-23-13 2:39PM

If I remember correctly there used to be a wave maker that also sent swells across the bay. - Boundin  459.6 #372 4-25-13 10:56PM

In Hollywood, the palm trees start shorter towards the entrance and are taller by the Hyperion, to show the movement of a new Hollywood to an older one - idoit4mickeyCM  26.4 #5309 4-23-13 3:38PM Like  Reply
Also, the "timeline" bridge is the Hyperion bridge, modeled after the bridge of the same name on Hyperion St, where Walt moved his studios to at one point. - idoit4mickeyCM  26.4 #5309 4-23-13 3:39PM Like  Reply
