Hi ladies! I'm sorry I've been gone for so long we have had a very scary couple of weeks with our daughter. I had noticed a spot in her mouth, doc said maybe a bruise to keep an eye on it. It didnt go away so we were referred to a specialist out of town. Specialist had never seen anything like it so he scheduled a biopsy to rule out oral melanoma. The biopsy was last Tuesday and it turned into surgery as he discovered it was a
midline cyst. It was actually quite big and they had to extract the whole thing. He said chances of melanoma with this are very rare but will still biopsy it to be sure. It is something like a congenital defect that she had since she was in utero (like a cleft palate) that didn't fuse together properly. It has even put pressure to the bone in her nasal cavity and broke through. He thinks that bone will fuse back since she's so young. She has a large open raw spot in her palette now that should take 3-4 weeks to heal. We will have to go in for check ups in case they didn't get all if the cells to prevent it from growing back. She's in a lot of pain and it will be hard for a few weeks but we feel a huge sense of relief and will feel 100% better once the biopsy comes back benign.
Needless to say I haven't been tracking my points or working out, it's all been very surreal.
