The First Disneyland Weight Loss Program
515.3 #337 DL Qual #648 7-18-13 3:38AM
In a moment of weakness I signed up for the Run or Dye 5k in Redding this October. I need a training program that starts with putting on running shoes and walking. I am the worst runner. I guess training starts today.
There are some good couch to 5K plans out there. Do you have an iPhone? There are some good ones in the App Store, many of them free. Are you going to train to run the whole thing or are you planning to run intervals? And, by the way, GOOD FOR YOU!!! I have no doubt that you can do it!! - vernswifevickie   399.4 #473 7-18-13 4:49AM Like(1)  Reply
I think you mean a moment of strength! 💪😉 You will have an amazing time! Try the couch to 5K program. It's very doable. Congrats on making this decision--you'll do great! - Spoonful_O_Sugar   507.9 #343 7-18-13 9:06AM Like  Reply
Good luck! You can do it! Google C25K (couch-to-5-K). There are tons of programs to help. ✨ - PirateQueenBriezy   294.7 #817 7-18-13 9:49AM Like  Reply
I like the Couch to 5 K (C25K) app I have on my iphone...I have never been a runner, but this is a great program that will get you started the right way. I did the Color Run in Pomona last month; the Run or Dye sounds similar. If so, it'll be a lot of fun! :) - GheeButtersnaps   369.3 #522 7-18-13 10:27AM Like  Reply
Yay! You can do this and you will have so much fun!!!! Definitely get a C25k program started. If you are not a runner, try the Jeff Galloway run/walk/run method. It's the only way I can do what I have done so far. - D55CR   249.8 #1204 7-18-13 3:41PM Like  Reply
I started for first day of training. I alternated walking/running around the neighborhood. I have a long ways to go. - Mrs.mouse   515.3 #337 7-18-13 8:54PM Like  Reply
We all have to start at the beginning. When I first started on this journey, a few years back, it was hard for me to walk a mile on flat ground...I thought I was gonna die...lol. Just keep it up and you'll be surprised at how you progress!! I'm proud of you!! - vernswifevickie  399.4 #473 7-19-13 4:58AM
I started running regularly when I was sixteen. I was active in sports (volleyball, basketball, and gymnastics), but I always struggled with asthma. I could barely finish the required mile run in PE class, even though I was an active kid. It only took 3-4 months and I built up my endurance to run 5 miles and my asthma was nonexistent. It takes time for all of us--totally normal--but it's a great investment in your health and future :) Keep at it! I'm proud of you, also! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 7-19-13 6:42AM

HEY! I was just thinking of signing up! Do you know the actual date? I'm just not sure we'll be in town but if we are, we should do it together! - cynDOLEwhip   1175.4 #108 7-22-13 10:33PM Like  Reply
No, the official date hasn't been released. I pre registered for it. I'd love to do it together. - Mrs.mouse  515.3 #337 7-23-13 12:35AM
I pre-registered as well. Hopefully the date will work with my schedule. We will be gone for one week in October to Disneyland! - cynDOLEwhip  1175.4 #108 7-24-13 11:06AM
