Quick question... Does the Safari run after dark at the Animal Kingdom? Not a Pandora fan at all and may walk through once. Planning a trip for 2018 and was curious. Thanks. Pic from last night.

Do they allow these gro pro sticks in the parks? it doesn't pull out like a long selfie stick.

Good question! I thought about getting one myself. The website says "the following items may not be brought into the parks" part i: selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices." I it doesn't extend I'm not sure :/ - ariel116  108.5 #71 6:19AM
This answer is gonna be based on Disneyland but maybe it'll be similar at Disneyworld. They do allow those go pro sticks but if you get a cast member that does know the difference it might end up confiscated. - missmimi90  2080.2 #92 9:11AM
I texted Indy (Chris),  he said Disney goes back and fort about these sticks.  So just to be safe,  I would say no don't bring one.  I guess I will just use it for my cruise.   - islandgirl58  519.1 #18 11:58AM
You shouldn't have a problem with it, especially if you have the Go Pro already attached to it when you go through security.  - Andrea84  754.5 #12 6:54PM

Good Morning! Anyone have any suggestions/opinions? I'm having a hard time deciding what to do...I have 2 resorts booked for dec 8-13. One is CBR w the 75.00 gift card per night incentive and the other is Pop w free dining...just 3 of us going...which would you choose? Hmmmm...TIA for any opinions shared!

I would keep the moderate with the $75 which would probably more than cover QS food for each day. It seems like they would be about equal,  - Andrea84  754.5 #12 9:28AM
I would do this too! - DizneyGirl  1546.1 #5 9:29AM
Agreed! You can find ways to eat real cheap and have extra for souvenirs even! - ariel116  108.5 #71 9:33AM
I would too - Pooh147856  456.6 #20 4:24PM
Thanks!!!!  I'm tempted but I'm a little lery of the busses...what I'm reading doesn't seem overly positive...any thoughts on that subject? - brittandkell  555.6 #423 9:41AM
I finally got through on the phone! So I ended up switching to a pirate room (not my first choice but I'm going to pray for someone to cancel so I cvs switch back) and I ended up getting free dining plus the gift cards! Woo hoo! Hopefully the pirate rooms are ok!  Not sure my little girl is going to love the pirate room...lol - brittandkell  555.6 #423 11:18AM
My fiancรฉ and I are stuck with the pirate rooms as well. How romantic haha. But worth it in the end! Since we really only sleep there anyway. As for buses, I read mixed reviews but it seems like some people are just drama queens and the walk to the main bus station isn't too bad and from there the buses are good! I will be there in a few weeks I will let ya know! - ariel116  108.5 #71 1:53PM
I think you'll still enjoy the room. I remember the very first time we stayed on property the only way we could get these special offer was by staying at the All Star Sports. Nobody in our family, at that time, enjoyed Sports at all, not even my husband. However when we got there, everything being Larger than Life was just so cool, it did not take away from our enjoyment of our trip at all. And we still rave about staying at All Star - DizneyGirl  1546.1 #5 2:15PM
BOTH resorts are excellent and the bus issue with CBR isn't a big deal unless it's a rainy day. Pop Century can be VERY busy and crowded and the entire resort "empties" into one set of bus stops - the lines can be long!  - Radio-Man  347.3 #27 4:07AM
Thank you!! Pop is our go to! We've only stayed in value and deluxe so it'll be an adventure checking out a moderate! - brittandkell  555.6 #423 4:48AM
Hi!!!! I have missed you guys!!!! Anyway CBR will be undergoing major renovations this fall so you might want to look into that. The food court will be closed and many of the buildings will be closed. We loved CBR last time we stayed there but we rented a car because there are 7 bus stops!! - BagGal  345.7 #28 2:54PM

Something has been on my mind for a while but I was not sure how to tastefully ask my fellow MWers but I am dying to know: how do you find the best deals and cheapest way to be able to do Disney each year or more than once a year? I think I need more training on finding the good deals and being less picky with my resort, but it seems like a huge investment each time we book a trip and something al  More...

No way around it, Disney is expensive. There are so many hotels nearby. That's how I save. I stayed at a Value resort once, but don't see the need to do it again. Yes, staying at the Grand Floridian would be amazing, but I would never pay those prices. You can always visit it for free. I pick my splurges for the trip and scrimp elsewhere. Since I have to fly, I always check on Orbitz about making it a "package". Sometimes the hotels are super cheap that way.  - JenGwen323  2238.1 #86 11:41PM
My husband just found a fantastic deal on Orbitz for a trip this July 4th holiday. Hotel at Hilton Bonnet Creek (six nights), flight with Virgin airlines (SFO to MCO), plus car rental (Nissan Altima size) four travelers for just over $3000. The flight alone through Virgin is usually more than that. - GoofyMom77  1159.5 #189 10:18AM
We stay off site every other year. If we did not we could not go every year. The years we stay on site we make sure we do the free dining and go during value season. This means pulling our kids out of school, but I've come to terms with that and I'm quite alright with it. Staying in a condo saves us thousands of dollars because we eat there, and it's probably 10% to 30% of a moderate or Deluxe resort. We also drive down and we live in the midwest so it's a 24-hour total drive (each way). It cost us about $950 to drive down and back, but flights would be around $4,000 during the times we want to go. We do buy groceries and eat in our condo with just one meal in the park per day. We also opted not to do the park hopper pass, we're not big fans, as we feel you lose time as you're transported from one park to another, and it can save you quite a bit as well. - DizneyGirl  1546.1 #5 4:09PM
Great to know! Thanks for sharing! - ariel116  108.5 #71 4:24PM

A month away from vacation. Can not wait. I am ready to start packing!!! We have decided to to do two resorts. Pop century for two nights and then most the trip at old key west.

Yay!!! Fun times ahead. We are doing two and have for the last few years. We are staying 5 nights at Disney pop century and 4 nights at cabana bay at universal.  - mmddgp  1921.9 #3 5:31AM
We stayed at night at cabana bay. Mainly cuz I wanted to go in the lazy river and extra hour at Harry Potter world lol. We were looking into one night there this Tripp but it was half of what we were going to pay for pop century for a week. We just decieded to use some dvc points we were going to save for old key west (that washer and drier in the room is a big deal for us lol). I'm so excited for this trip. New stuff. We are going to get our Disney fb page up soon for some live videos and a blog and instagram  - TinkTinkTink  303.2 #33 5:54AM
So very cool. A washer and dryer in the room would be awesome for us with 8!! I am excited for cabana bay this year. We got a two bedroom suite with a view of volcano bay. I am excited to see the new rooms and the water park. The kids are so excited.  - mmddgp  1921.9 #3 4:39PM

Yes for toy story mania (last week) and Matterhorn plus the new line for Matterhorn has made a huge mess of an already crowded walkway. We have more day trippers here so the whole planning everything out doesn't work well. They are telling us they're going to add maxpass which is a paid service on your phone. The  response has not been good, Disneyland resort is just a lot different than how big WDW is and most stay at WDW for at least a couple days. We'll see how it goes.  - secretagentangel  13017.3 #9 5:57PM

Haha, there's a lot of debate out there about whether or not DL should have magic bands ๐Ÿ˜‚  It seems they're heading in that direction, though I think it's been challenging to implement a new system, as DL is quite different than WDW (plus people are pretty attached to the paper FP and the flexibility it offers).   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  708.3 #330 1:42PM
