I was thinking about starting a daily goal challenge. The idea is that you can share your daily goal and the results of the goal. Maybe it'll get me thinking and motivated.
I have another good quote from Kim Benson: What you eat in private and what you wear in public. Hardest part of eating changes besides hunger is being honest with myself. Ironically the planning makes it easier. - Plumiegirl3322.6 #10 5-18-13 10:59AMLike(1) Reply

Hi there! I think I said this on your post that was in the Hub the other night, but a lot of people start running with the Couch to 5K program, and then pick up the half marathon training from there. Good luck! Remember to set goals, stick to a reasonable plan, and feed your body well: if you're going to run, your body needs fuel! A lot of people try to cut their calories way low and end up burning out because they don't have the energy to keep training. I punctured holes in the spaghetti squash and boiled it for about 30 min. I then allowed it to cool, cut it along the equator scooped out the seeds, then used a fork to pull the strans. I put the squash into the sauce I had made and allow to cook for 30 min. I find that if its cooked more its not as crunchy and takes of a more pasta like texture. I should takea look at the newer version but I am swamped with the end of the school year tasks. I'm a school nurse. I stopped counting years ago in order to finish my masters degree thesis and did not get back on because I like to eat. Age and health are now the priority. Hiii SoS!I haven't been on in a while! Nice to see a familiar name, and that someone actually remembers me! :) - Madi 204.1 #1570 4-28-13 6:25PM
I love beachbody programs! After I "graduate" Insanity, I'm either doing the asylum or p90x! But honestly, stick with it! Sometimes you won't see results as quickly as you would like, but you will see it soon! - Madi204.1 #1570 4-27-13 10:13PMLike Reply
So, over the past few weeks I haven't had any loss, but no gain either. I guess that's good. I started HRT today. The dr says it may help with weight loss. She didn't seem to think that it would be too difficult to lose weight, however sh More...
I call that "practicing maintenance"....lol. I think it's actually quite an accomplishment to go through a major surgery, recovery AND a vacation with no weight gain! Good job!! - vernswifevickie348.5 #416 4-25-13 5:23AMLike Reply
I have had enough "practice weight gain" so maybe I can "practice weight loss". I do like your "practice maintance". - Mrs.mouse 420.4 #306 4-25-13 8:18PM
That's wonderful--glad you are feeling better! 😃 I haven't gone out in my bike in a long time. I need to get out there, the weather is so nice! - Spoonful_O_Sugar435.8 #284 4-25-13 6:15AMLike Reply
Yay! So glad you are free from exercise restrictions now. What a relief, huh? Take it slow...it takes time but you'll gain your strength back. Great job with no weight gain...AND you even went to Disneyland and didn't gain! WOW! - D55CR245.4 #1048 4-25-13 4:22PMLike Reply
I rode my bike again today. Went a little longer. I'm easing into it. - Mrs.mouse 420.4 #306 4-25-13 8:19PM
Whoo Hoo! So glad that you're getting back to being you! A little bike ride today...the yellow jersey tomorrow (or maybe next month)! - msdizmaui518.9 #223 4-26-13 12:05AMLike Reply
I know Vickie posted the pic on Chubb33. But if you would like to see my experience of my first 5k check out my blog cookingtolosetheweight.blogspot.com it's my weight loss blog
Still on target with my points. It's been an adjustment to not eat in the parks. Best rescue is a small side salad when in DCA on saturday from paradise pizza & pasta. One Ghiradeli's chocolate square is 1.6 points so its my small doable treat plus it's free. Down 2 lbs this week👍👍 - Plumiegirl3322.6 #10 4-22-13 9:20PMLike Reply
Great job Plumie! I love the automatic portion control of having one free piece of chocolate! Congratulations on the 2 pound loss....that is great! - vernswifevickie 348.5 #416 4-23-13 4:35AM
Sounds like you had a great week. 2 pounds is great. - Mrs.mouse 420.4 #306 4-23-13 10:36PM
I was horrible last week. I haven't felt good (we're getting a lot of "vog" from the Big Island). I hit up the comfort food. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life.... - msdizmaui518.9 #223 4-23-13 1:26AMLike Reply
Ahhhh....comfort food... How it lies to me every single time! It promises to comfort me but all it does is make me feel guilty...lol. Glad you have a good attitude for getting back on track! - vernswifevickie 348.5 #416 4-23-13 4:37AM
You're so right Vickie! I never thought of it like that. Maybe there's something to that. I'll think of everything as "Bad Comfort Food"...that just might work! - msdizmaui 518.9 #223 4-23-13 5:20PM
Spent all day at the hospital yesterday with my Mom as she had yet another procedure done. Sitting all day with no exercise has made me feel stiff today. I will try to go on a run during my lunch break. I did fairly well on my eating.. More...
How is your mom? Why is evening time so hard to avoid snacking? - Mrs.mouse420.4 #306 4-18-13 11:47PMLike Reply
We just got a call from the oncologist who wants to see her today. Heading out shortly to go with her, so should know more then. But I'm bracing myself because it hasn't been good news so far.
I did better with my snacking last night...finally! Just had a glass of Pellegrino with some lime (instead of the glass of wine I really wanted), and no snacks. WOOO HOOO! It's a start. - D55CR 245.4 #1048 4-19-13 11:17AM
With you again. I did great all day then after dinner sat there and started looking around for things to eat. Started with low-fat string cheese (not too bad) then moved on to a sugar-free fudgecicle (still not terrible) then hit the pecan pieces (should have stopped at the fudgecicle). Hope mom does better tomorrow...too bad our "late nights" are in different time zones. We could meet up on MW and talk ourselves out of eating! - msdizmaui518.9 #223 4-19-13 12:57AMLike Reply
I like how your snacks aren't too bad. I kinda don't want to admit what my snacks are. - Mrs.mouse 420.4 #306 4-19-13 1:56AM
Not sure why, but the night time is the hardest. Oh well....we just keep trying, right? - D55CR 245.4 #1048 4-19-13 11:18AM
Night time snacking plagues me!! You're right...we just keep trying. I'm sorry things are so hard with your mom. - vernswifevickie348.5 #416 4-20-13 6:56PMLike Reply
