I don't make very many reservations and I've only ever missed one due to "Hubby override" about 20 minutes before dinning time. I think this is more for those who make multiple dinning reservations, like one in each park for the same time, so that no matter where they are, they have a place to eat without waiting in line. I think I kinda like the plan, but maybe shorten the cancellation to 12 hours. Plans can change fairly quickly sometimes. - GoofyMom77108.6 #2922 4-21-13 1:40PMLike(2) Reply
While I see where they're coming from, it's true what you say about plans changing quickly. I'd hate to see guests get penalized because there was an emergency causing them to miss a reservation. We'll see how it all goes though - LBChica 1500.0 #51 4-21-13 2:13PM
Wow, never thought of that - that's really rude and selfish. I would like to see those people get smacked. *grrr* - abudoggie 12.0 #6213 4-21-13 8:58PM
I have on multiple occasions had to miss a reservation because of an emergency. I have always let disney dining know as soon as I knew, but if we have to leave with a sick kid the day of, there's not really anything I could do about it. In the long run, I think it will discourage people like me from planning ahead. $30 is a lot of money for us to gamble during a disney trip. I might understand charging those who just make reservations and then don't show, but I think 24 hours notice is WAAAY to intense. - LittleAprilShowers471.0 #257 4-21-13 6:46PMLike(1) Reply
I have a feeling that as long as you call they'll be extremely lenient and understanding, but guess we'll have to wait and see. I suspect they are more focused on efficient use of tables not penalizing people with good intent. - Westcoast 61.1 #3552 4-22-13 10:45PM
I agree with you, April. I think it's a good plan, but 24 hours is a bit much. There are always people waiting for tables at the restaurant who would happily take the spot. So long as you tell them before, it should be allowed :(. Any ideas if you can transfer reservations? - KylaShea 533.2 #214 4-23-13 5:46AM
WDW runs on this policy, and they ARE NOT lenient about it. I tried to cancel about 12 hours in advance for a dinner reservation, and although I got many apologies from the CM I was talking to, there are no exceptions. They do this to keep people from making multiple reservations. On the flip side, I never make dining reservations at Disneyland. The wait usually isn't long anyway, but at WDW reservations are a must; you plan your day around the food. - chelebee230.0 #1240 4-24-13 9:04PMLike Reply

It could be as simple as someone trying to take a stroller down (😠) or maybe somebody not used to elevators pulled a buddy (from Elf). Don't worry. I'm sure you'll have a great day regardless of how crowded it is.

I use a walker and agree - more elevators would be good... - abudoggie 12.0 #6213 4-21-13 11:20AM
I wish people would use common sense and only have one person with each stroller, the rest of the party should take the escalator to free up space for other strollers. 😁 - bluefairy 627.0 #174 4-21-13 4:21PM
Bella and I use the stairs because I don't want to get dagger eyes from moms for trying to go in the first elevator with extra space. - letsrckthis 161.5 #2130 4-21-13 5:10PM
Thank you for not trying to squeeze the rest of your group through the que to catch up to you. Disney karma at its best!

For the sake of the sanity of those around me, I have to employ a Disneyland filter as our trip gets closer. This means that for every comment I make about Disneyland, I have to force myself to say three things completely unrelated to Disney. However, this usually makes for a very awkward flow of conversation. - LittleAprilShowers471.0 #257 4-21-13 10:24AMLike(3) Reply
My husband thinks I'm nuts because all I do is talk about Disneyland! My trip is in November and I have been non-talking about it and shopping for it for weeks now. - BriarBeauty 60.7 #3562 4-21-13 10:54AM
You know, there's this cool thing where if you give the cm some green rectangles with pictures of important people, they let you take the tags and beeper device thingy off.

You're at Disneyland while many of us cannot be there. I am currently in the midst of a seven class semester and I wish nothing more than to spend the weekends at Disneyland so that I can enjoy my free time instead of worry about school. Be glad you're there and while it may be a pain to wait in line, many of us would rather wait in line just because it means we would be in the park. - letsrckthis161.5 #2130 4-20-13 11:36AMLike Reply
We always watch them over here during Christmas, but have never seen the normal fireworks from here. Will have to keep it in mind.
