Tinkerbell! ๐ The other night I was at a family party and a friend's daughter came up to me and said "You're Tinkerbell aren't you?" I replied, "What makes you think I'm Tinkerbell?" She said "Because you look just like her and you are always smiling. And your hair is brown because you don't want anyone to notice you, but I know it's you!" I about cried! ๐ญ๐ - AshleyLynn22747.6 #136 10-28-12 10:30AMLike Reply

It's actually a document disorder. Seriously. There is a full list of symptoms. Not everyone gets it but something like 90% of people that go for more then 3 days will suffer it.
Yes, it's hard going back to real life.

Yes, I get the blahs. Disney has done a wonderful job of creating an escape from the real world. It's a controlled environment. And that's a good thing in this case. - FairyGrandmother118.3 #2757 10-14-12 12:12AMLike Reply
True, Disneyland truly is a magical place, leave your worries at the main gate. I do have moments of sadness but my son takes it away when I see him so happy. - dumbbunny 113.6 #2838 10-14-12 3:46AM
Agreed whole heartedly. I was just telling my husband that I got the sickness of Disneyland addiction. My husband and I were talking about how wonderful it was to be in a totally happy place. Such a wonderful escape, especially after a very rough year for our family. - templeclan 54.8 #3655 10-14-12 11:36AM

Maybe school him in the picnic area and have recess/lunch in the park. I think it might be to over stimulating to learn in the park. Buy then again, I've always been easily distracted. Lol.
Disneyland has a lot of good history and engineering. Do the drawing class in CA too. Ride the lily Belle and drive the mark Twain. Look at the plants growing and research when you get home. Most of all have fun and enjoy the experience. He'll learn by living it. - MamaRoo344.5 #422 10-12-12 10:53AMLike(2) Reply

Yes! I homeschool too. Just incorporate lessons into your day. Go to the petting zoo for a lesson on animals, get in a line and calculate wait times, social studies by looking at all the different visitors from all over the world and note the different languages and go to small world, American history with Lincoln, and it goes on and on.... - tiggermother50.4 #3746 10-12-12 12:10PMLike Reply
I had requested a reader for my bday, after my research I decided on a Kindle Fire. I was gifted an iPad 2 (not the newest one) and downloaded the free Kindle app and couldn't be happier. If size/cost is an issue then the iPad probably wouldn't be a good choice. - Linzee515.4 #227 10-2-12 5:26PMLike Reply

I know this post is a few days old but... I decided on a kobo touch w/ wifi. Bought it earlier today and so far I like it. I like I can get gift cards for it instead of a credit card. Now to see how the battery last. Thanks for the input.
Also, 17 days till Seattle, this means 20 days until I walk through those magical gates!! - JediTrance71.1 #3383 10-4-12 5:32PMLike Reply

If you trust them to babysit and/or take the city bus by themselves, you can trust them to be ok at Disneyland. Just have very specific time and place you will be picking them up.
According to Disney Travel they must be 7 or older...but, here is my question to you why would anyone drop there children off unattended...the CM's are not babysitters....just saying... - dawna286.9 #686 9-30-12 9:13AMLike(10) Reply
This has to be a joke. I'd say 15, 16 minimum. My rule growing up is that if I could drive myself there, I could go unattended. Within reason, of course. - ladylikesdisney 921.5 #95 9-30-12 9:20AM

Not all kids go through the "too cool" stage. Don't worry. My daughter took her first trip to Disbeyland at 16 with me...even walked arm in arm. โบSure, I could always find ways to embarrass her, but even at almost 18, she has never shunned me. ๐ - PeachKay 310.6 #555 9-30-12 10:21AM
