Sorry about your back – I know about those sorts of pains are although haven't had one in years. Back problems can be quite serious. I would not even risk going on something that could possibly hurt it because it's not worth it. I hope you feel better and stick to the attractions that are easier on the back. - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 4094.2 #23 10-24-14 8:43AMLike(5)Reply

Still went on the ride without issue. 7 month ago I ended up have full surgery in the same area. Haven't had a problem on THAT ride, but will warn you to stay off Matterhorn. Each person is different and each injury is different so take it slow and work up to that ride and see how it goes. Just remember DL warnings before you get on, there is a reason for them - MermaidHunter 65.0 #3954 10-24-14 8:48AMLike(1)Reply
I had the procedure, at the same location, I felt great right away. I don't go on Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, or Pirates because I remember them as being jerky and somewhat painful.. It is the unexpected jerking that aggravates my back. I would never go on Screamin anyway.ha I have been on Space Mountain, and BTMR [especially since the upgrade this year] with no problems, and am looking forward to riding them a lot more!!. - snowgrey 5.0 #16030 10-24-14 3:24PMLike(1)Reply

Literally just teared up... Agree on all points. A lot of people think I'm really wired for loving a theme park so much, but it's so much more than that. I hate it being labeled a "theme park" because there IS magic there unlike any other park. In my religion we often refer to something called "the spirit". We generally identify this as a feeling inside that makes you feel, happy, hopeful, closer to God. Usually it's brought on when someone is speaking words of truth, you do good deed, or are surrounded by good activities. I have felt the spirit, or this happy feeling when I'm at dl. It is centered around happiness, cleanliness, families, the foundations of America, kindness toward others, etc. I truly love it there because, in most cases, people do go out of their way to be decent and respectful of others. I feel like DL brings out the best in people. - BellesLibrary 401.9 #478 10-20-14 4:36PMLike(7)Reply
I don't consider DLAND a theme park at all. It's a special place that I go to almost everyday to relax& get rid of my stress and worries. I've been coming here since I was a baby. I'm 43 now & still get excited to come every time as if I was a kid. The Best ride ever is of course Space Mountain& I ride everyday. It's the friend that I need when the world is cold. It's my stress reliever and it's how I cope with my problems. I don't feel this way about any other ride. I could ride for hours straight. - Superspacemountainfan 79.2 #3688 10-20-14 8:29PMLike(3)Reply

Would love to try this one. Big Thunder BBQ is a fav of ours to eat at. But I always feel like I need to be rolled out of there when done. Thank goodness there are NO calories at Disney - azcupcake 66.3 #3931 10-18-14 7:42PMLike(1)Reply
i know the feeling, my 4 year old has gone more times than I ever did before she was born. This is her second year with an AP. That look in their eyes and joy in their hearts, you just can't get that anywhere else. We have friends t More...
I'm sorry for your childhood, I completely understand what you mean! My parents raised 6 kids all together so we couldn't afford Disneyland until I got older (I was the youngest). I had a rough childhood, but fell in love with Disneyland in high school when I got my AP with my best friend. I now have a 2 year old and I've had an AP since she was 3 months old. My parents have them and take my nieces so I got one to tag along. My daughters father left me when she was only 3 weeks old for someone else, who had a kid herself. So he decided to be a dad to her kid and abandon my daughter when she was 3 months. Really rough time for me, and I still have moments where it hurts. Disneyland has been my happy place, and I remember seeing my daughters eyes light up when I took her for her 1st birthday and we watched the parade. I almost cried! I can still get teary eyed when we go. She screams every time she hears the announcers voice before the parade starts and she has no problem sitting in the ground for an hoir if it means seeing Mickey Mouse and Snow White. It is definitely our happy place, when I go I just shut out the outside world and whatever I may be stressing over. It's a very magical place and this app is awesome since I can talk to people who get it. I have a lot of friends who tease me for spending the money on it since it's too expensive and "not worth it". I took my daughter to knotts last year and it made me even more appreciative of Disneyland. There is always something to do and never a dull moment. Everyone working there makes it such a great place. Seeing my daughters face makes the price worth it. I don't get to do much for her, but this is something I splurge on so we can have our happy place. One monthly payment isn't too bad, even though she will be 3 soon and I'll have two monthly payments lol. Worth it, and I'm saving up to try and pay for hers up front, or at least half! - Evalyn31Britt 19.5 #6435 10-16-14 1:33PMLike(3)Reply

Happy MW anniversary! this is a great app and I am glad I am on it. Thanks! for your story. I didnt go to Disneyland until I was 36 and my son was 5. I grew up without my dad (died when I was 1 month old) and my mom was single until I was 8. Then after that we couldnt afford things. So even though I grew up in California I never went. My husband grew up with a single mom and never went until our first trip when he was 42. It was great though that all of our first trips were as a family. It is our favorite place to go and spend having fun as a family. In between our year and a half apart trips I really enjoy being on here. Thanks! everyone. - keepmovingforward 105.4 #3300 10-16-14 8:28PMLikeReply
Only my second time I made it to sticker night. Tonight seemed pretty amazing. Is it always like this?
Thank you, @HandMeAChurroImmaFaint, for giving up precious family time each and every Tuesday night for the rest of us to have some fun with sticker night! I appreciate the sacrifice you make to do this. Time away from the little churros and their homework needs. You don't have to do this. It is not a paid job. 😂. But you do it out of the goodness of your heart and your genuine love of mw and wanting to make the Lounge a better and fun place to hang out. I know we all owe you a debt of gratitude for what you bring to the Lounge here and in many other ways. You are always there with an answer for anyone who asks. Be it about stickers or any other Disney question or concern. You've got the 411 down on stickers. So, thank you. 😘. You are tops in my book. 😊 - MeridaFan 3404.9 #27 10-15-14 12:18PMLike(5)Reply

Well by 1/15, the Christmas decorations will be down, so if that's a deciding factor. Also, that weekend after the 15th is a 3 day weekend...
I believe the 7th is one of the nights of the candlelight processional. As far as the rest of that week, expect crowds pretty much all of the holiday season. It might not be too bad as it's during the week and kids are probably still in school, but it seems when the decorations go up, the crowds come out! - DisneyLuvinMama 299.4 #809 10-5-14 11:03PMLike(1)Reply

I love the Canoe hutch. This reminds me of a House hunting show that people live in tree houses in Costa Rica. Tree house living really isn't my taste. Imagine how it would be to just grocery shop without roads hiking thru a jungle - E-Ticket 1081.6 #136 10-5-14 8:53PMLikeReply

If anyone has ever considered doing this, we have always had great experiences. They have a webpage with details, but basically it's a day kennel that charges $20ish / day with proof of vaccines. You need to return every few hours to walk and play with your animals (CMs do not handle them). We have found the CMs to be super-friendly and fun (of course!), and the place is very clean with nice AC. Our dog is very important to us, and it's so nice to be able to have a true family vacay with him included ☺️ - Spoonful_O_Sugar 535.2 #329 10-5-14 4:06PMLikeReply
The 10 year mark is usually a little far out there, but anything sooner is just fine
Never too soon! We started at 80 sleeps for this trip, and we are at 33 sleeps today. The anticipation is all part of the fun! And I'm cleaning my kitchen with the Disney Vacation DVD from 2013 playing in the background :) - MyMouseMickey32 55.7 #4180 10-5-14 9:18AMLike(1)Reply

I think I'm in the minority here...but I don't really like counting down days. It kindof makes me anxious and life tends to move too fast for me sometimes anyway. Hope you enjoy your trip! 😊 - MinnieMousewife 752.1 #208 10-5-14 1:17PMLikeReply
