I have to say that BombFrog and MrsSchnooks are some of my favorite MWers and I really appreciate that they are so supportive of others even as they deal with hardships themselves. That's a quality I see in MWers everyday. I love the posi More...
I love how much awareness you bring to autism and I'm sure you know my passion for bringing awareness to mental illness stems from being diagnosed with type 2 bipolar and chronic depression. I really want to educate myself and understand autism more. Is it common practice to say or introduce your child by saying they have high functioning autism? Is that supposed to let others know in advance of special needs? I don't warn people of my bipolar so I wasn't sure it was something your doctors have found to be helpful in adjustment for your child. It's just you bring it up a lot. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Glad your family is ready to go and have fun! - MrsSchnooks 3184.9 #39 11-2-13 10:18PMLike(5)Reply
OMGosh! The closer it gets, the harder it is for me to sleep!! I love that you share what you have been though with Jack😁 it makes things so much easier for me when I'm having a hard time with B. This big trip that he took was really hard for him! He enjoyed himself, to a point. He really needed to have his quiet time. The first day home he stayed in his room and when I came in to talk with him, he politely asked me to leave because he needed to "decompress". As you say, people don't really understand how broad the spectrum really is. What may appear as " normal" may in fact be a high functioning child with Autism. 👏 I applaud you and your lovely wife for all that you do to help bring this out into view😃 - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet 1256.9 #124 11-2-13 10:40PMLike(2)Reply
I would love to meet your family one day! We live far away and only get out 1-2xs a year. I hope you all have a great and safe time! One day we will sync up visits and meet! - PrincessDaisy 322.3 #737 11-3-13 10:07AMLike(1)Reply
I really want to hear your story!! My most memorable experience at DL was the day my daughter opened the park, 17 years ago. Please add me for HMACIF. Thank you!
Please add me for your generous RAK. I have so many disney memories but I will share one that relates to IASW. Growing up my family (mom, dad, sister and I) would go to Disneyland every other year. We were very close to our grandparents, so my sister and I would always send postcards home and ask to call my grandparents while on vacation. On one of our first visits to Disneyland we were in tomorrowland and saw the huge family size phone booths. My sister and I begged and pleaded to use them to call our grandparents. I remember that phone call like it was yesterday. My sister and I were yelling at the same time trying to tell them everything we had seen and done. At the end of the call my grandfather asked if we had ridden IASW yet, it was his favorite ride. We had not, so of course that had to be our next stop. Every trip after that we had to call home at least once if not more from those phone booths. And every time my grandfather asked the same question and we always ran off to IASW. My grandparents are no longer with me, but every time I walk through tomorrowland I think of those phones and head over to IASW. It makes me feel a little closer to my grandparents and brings back wonderful memories. Sorry for the long post. Thanks. - SBsnowwhite 511.4 #386 10-22-13 10:00AMLike(2)Reply
Hello, please add me :D my favorite Disneyland ride. Well, and the first ride for me the first time I went to Disneyland, it was 1980somerhing. I only went about 2 times during my childhood. Thankfully I married someone who really enjoys Disneyland. I've been spoiled ever since, at least once a year. Now, I make it our family tradition to ride It's a small world every time we go. cheers! :D - Aworldofcheer 143.8 #2742 10-23-13 12:07AMLike(1)Reply
What a great RAK! My kiddos LOVE small world! They would be ectastic to win these! Please add me. My story, when my littlest first experienced the attraction I so enjoyed watching her eyes light up and bounce up and down on my lap. It was the first Disney song she ever sung and we listen to it often on car rides and around the house while playing. It's so cute when we go to the parks and I ask her where we should go 1st and she shouts "It-see!" (It's a small world) even though she can now say the full name of the attraction at 2, I never correct her because it always reminds me of that fist ride we took together. ::wipes tears:: Thanks again for this great RAK! - Duchess_SMK 6112.7 #15 10-23-13 9:05AMLikeReply

Please add me for your generous RAK. You are very talented! If I was to win, I would live something with either Snow White or Dopey. Thanks and have fun at the Craft fair ( unfortunately I can not attend because I have to work). - SBsnowwhite 511.4 #386 10-12-13 10:35PMLikeReply
OH forgot to mention! Each vendor will be donating something from thier booth to be put in a raffle. You have to show up to enter but you do not have to be present to win. - StitchEars 330.7 #697 10-10-13 1:24PMLike(3)Reply

My daughter called me Mamaroo one day and it stuck. The pic is my younger daughter in Pluto's bed on her first Disney visit when she was 2 months old.
I'm a costume designer. Edna Mode is a costume designer in The Incredibles. I must sew to costume. So therefore I'm SEWEDNA. My profile pic is of my colleague Edna. Shes fabulous. - sewedna 547.8 #351 9-30-13 5:16PMLike(9)Reply
My name is used else where and fits. The "starwars" portion comes from a love of Star Wars and it being what first got hubby and I talking. The "mamma" portion comes from when we were struggling with infertility, despite two years and two miscarriages i knew one day i would be "mamma" to my own baby and had that part there to remind me to stay positive through a trying often dark road. Now i am mommy to an amazing earth side baby and the whole family is Star Wars crazy! - starwarsmamma 561.6 #340 9-30-13 2:37PMLike(7)Reply

My name is Tammy and a long time ago a friend just started calling me Tamstirr and it stuck with me. I added the CM in front of it in April when I officially joined the Disney family as a cast member. We always bring snacks, trail mix to keep energy up and save on meals. At Rancho Del Zocalo you can order rice, beans or tortillas as side items and they're inexpensive. Meals are large enough to share. We often get a loaf of bread a More...
keep an eye out on the local hotels, last week someone posted a coupon for a three night stay for $100, now i wish i bought one!! if you are far away from park, we can all come pick you up, are you flying or driving by the way? I can help you at the parks with my discount but not sure on other ideas. May God bless you all and heal him, so he may have many more wonderful days with his loving family. In Jesus's name, Amen. I am adding you all to my prayer list, and anything I can help with, let me know. Oh, thought of one, buy disney gift cards at target now with the red program (you sign up with your checking account) and they give you 5% off disney and most gift cards. hope to see you there!! - secretagentangel 1948.1 #75 9-7-13 9:55PMLike(12)Reply
Almost forgot, if you have amazon prime, or it's early enough in your trip for free shipping, it can be easy and cheap to just order what you need and have it shipped to the hotel. A few days before leaving for WDW, I decided I needed a bigger memory card for my camera. It wouldn't arrive in time if I shipped it to my house, but I had it sent to the hotel and it was there when I checked in! You can order almost anything from amazon, often at comparable prices to stores. - bluefairy 643.3 #290 9-8-13 9:27PMLikeReply
We're at the very back....MakingMemories, Bendianajones, DarthMater and Mamaroo. Had to leave right after and only got to talk with MrsSchnooks but she's great, and it was fun to see people in person. - MamaRoo 466.6 #433 9-7-13 12:40PMLikeReply
Welcome! Tip one: Staying on property at DL isn't as important as WDW, there are a great many regular hotels within walking distance to the parks and it'll save you a good chunk of change. Tip 2) Do the park hopper, it only takes two minutes to get from the DL gate to the DCA gate, they're literally across from each other. Tip 3) Stay away from DL's dinning "plan", it's just vouchers with a dollar amount, and you don't get the change back. Tip 3) If you want table service dinning this weekend, make reservations now, it most instances you'll probably get them. Welcome to MW! - GoofyMom77 722.0 #247 9-7-13 9:44AMLike(2)Reply
Welcome! I have no official tips... Just a general "have a great time"! - CallMeFlower 423.1 #481 9-6-13 2:37PMLikeReply
Again, thank you all. I feel so much better. We booked a character dining dinner .So after the park closes we will do that. I am going to make the most out of our trip. I know it will still be magical - TigerLily01 14.7 #8052 9-2-13 12:11PMLike(2)Reply
Thank you again for all your help and comments. We are going to try to make our Disneyland trip the best ever! We have a character dining at Goofy's kitchen. I hope the kids will love it. And we will make the most out of the parks , even though it closes early. Our trip will still be magical and I can't wait to walk through the gates!! To see the look on ours Mini's faces will be something I will cherish :) - TigerLily01 14.7 #8052 9-2-13 12:41PMLikeReply
Big congrats! Running is so empowering! This was my first half, too, and I had an absolute blast--I learned so much during my training. We are already planning on going to WDW for a half in the next two years. We were amazed at all the people--so many probably wouldn't have started running if it weren't for runDisney events. It's such a special, inspiring aspect of the Disney company. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 600.1 #318 9-4-13 8:06PMLikeReply
You are very inspiring too! Last weekend was so much fun with my first 5K, that I came home and signed up for the 10k in January. Not sure about going past that. It's so awesome that you exceeded your goal! Congratulations!!! - AZDisney 610.4 #310 9-4-13 8:31PMLikeReply
