The customer service is better. Disney pays attention to details. The CM's take pride in their job. The parades and rides are amazing. Plus you feel safe. And it's family friendly. I could go on... - Tiggerific 345.1 #727 6-3-13 7:23PMLikeReply
Honestly just being there, it doesn't matter to me what I'm doing. But I have to say eating some Plaza Inn fried chicken and riding Tower of Terror doesn't hurt. - MallE 164.3 #2572 6-2-13 11:30PMLikeReply

It's a lot of fun! When I was little my family could only afford to go every couple of years. Now as an adult, the inner child in me can go and enjoy it when ever she wants! I really feel very lucky to live close by. Every visit to the park is different. Sometimes I go for the whole day, half day or just for a couple hours after school/work. Visits to the park vary upon how busy my schedule is. I enjoy going at least once a week if time permits. But last week I visited 4 times durning SB. 😊 - Miss_E_Mouse 1433.5 #129 4-5-13 1:36PMLike(2)Reply

Breakups are hard period. Just remember everything happens for a reason. Just stay positive that your prince charming is out there & when you least expect it, he will sweep you off your feet. Just focus on yourself and getting better. Time will heal your heartache.

Great pic! Check out all those trees in the background! Thanks for the pic!
I love how this photo shows how Fantasyland has changed. If you look to the back where the buckets are headed, that's the Fantasyland platform for the skyway. Casey Jr is to the right, and Dumbo was eventually moved from where it is in the pic to the right of the family. - Gia 802.0 #247 1-17-13 5:37PMLike(4)Reply

Oye! It's against the rules to promo another Disney fan board on here which you have done with your screen shot. Your pic also has no useful caption so when it gets buried the only thing you will have accomplished is the taking up valuable bandwidth. Make sure your child knows a cell phone number or write it down and Pin it in their pocket. Also, remind them to ask a cast member for help. Show them what cast members might be wearing.
Unfortunately kids can be very fast and out of your sight in a second. I've had it happen to me where he is right next to me and the next second I can't see him. Last time at Disneyland this happened when getting off the storybook boats. Luckily he knows to stay in place but my heart still sank. Even the most alert parent can get caught off guard. - aidensmama 340.3 #740 12-28-12 11:33AMLike(6)Reply

We don't have passes only because we live 6 hours away. We normally go twice a year, so i'm pretty sure we'll just buy an AP next year instead of paying $500 for tickets every time we go. - DisneylandMama87 17.4 #8277 11-24-12 1:09PMLike(2)Reply

The ride opened in July, 1989. Here's the background info: The idea for Splash Mountain was originally conceived in the summer of 1983 by Imagineer Tony Baxter while stuck in rush hour traffic on his way to work. He wanted to attract guests to the often-empty Bear Country land and make use of the Audio-Animatronics from America Sings, which was also receiving poor attendance. It was Dick Nunis who insisted that the Imagineers create a log flume for Disneyland, but the Imagineers were initially unenthusiastic about it, insisting that log flumes were too ordinary a theme park attraction to include in a park like Disneyland. While trying to solve the problems of including a log flume, bringing people into Bear Country and reusing the America Sings characters, Baxter then thought of Song of the South.
At the time it was built, Splash Mountain was one of the most expensive projects created by Walt Disney Imagineering at a cost of $75 million. According to Alice Davis (wife of the late Marc Davis), when America Sings closed in April 1988, production of Disneyland's Splash Mountain had gone far over budget. The only way to recover was to close down America Sings and use the characters from that attraction.
Baxter and his team developed the concept of Zip-a-Dee River Run, which would incorporate scenes from Song of the South. The name was later changed to Splash Mountain after then-CEO Michael Eisner's mostly-ignored suggestion that the attraction be used to help market the film Splash. The characters from America Sings were used in many scenes, though all of the main characters were specifically designed for Splash Mountain. Coincidentally, the two vultures seen just before the final drop at the Disneyland version are the same vultures used as the Boothill Boys in America Sings.
Dave Feiten was then brought in to animate and fix story and staging problems. Feiten then moved nearly all of the animatronics to new locations and then took out 10 animatronic figures and removed them from the ride completely to improve the show. - MeridaFan 4244.2 #38 10-9-12 9:43AMLikeReply

Yes. It's TERRIBLE!! We went on this last week with my niece... she was so excited... and then that creepy sliding action happened! Got my top two out in July. Keep ice or a frozen bag of peas on your face for 24 hours! Alternate sides every 15 minutes. I did that and had no swelling! We always bring Chex Mix, waters and, sour gummy worms. we stop by the 711. Our daughter called it Disneyland Snacks.
Wheat thins, gummy bears, licorice, grapes. Frozen water bottle...remove 1/3 of water, lay at an angle in the freezer the night before. In the morning, fill it up with cold water and you'll have a bottle of cold water for a few hours. - moomooluvr 293.2 #1017 8-29-12 12:41PMLike(6)Reply

They were in the hotel room. My oldest said the bed looked like the one in Disneyland. We just said oh really? When we walked toward Disney (after talking them into going to a park) they didn't realize where we were until we hit the crosswalk. Realized we were at Disneyland and asked if that's where we were going. Asked them if they wanted to. A resounding "yes!" with jumping up and down and saying thank you thank you! - Disneycrazymom 137.8 #2998 8-21-12 6:34PMLike(9)Reply
