I have been to Tokyo Disney 10 years ago. It was kind of odd to me, ridding Splash Mountain and hearing "Zippidy Do Da" in Japaneese. Also it really seemed geared toward children not just children of all ages (if that makes any sense. In Japan you are not a legal adult until you are 20 and really still act like a child up to that point.) When I was there, they had two parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. I only had one day and a 3 hour train ride each way so that could very much have clouded my judgement. - CinderellasMom 264.5 #1139 3-30-13 11:16AMLikeReply

If you watch, most of the time a new person freaks out and cries bully, it's usually when someone gently reminds them of a rule or informs them of a rule. then they freak out, caped crusaders come charging in, and everyone forgets that it was just someone reminding them of a rule to begin with. This usually equals a troll btw. Those type of people are gonna put in a negative review anyway. - madsdad 1847.0 #76 11-12-12 4:31PMLike(6)Reply

Do a search for meet up land to see if there are any scheduled. Or schedule one. A lot of the people who meet up with others are in the park almost all the time and have made friends with other MWs over the the last few years. Best sugge More...
Everyone had their first meet up, and knew pretty much NO ONE. When you're a newcomer, and you go to your first meet up, it can be a little intimidating because it seems like everyone knows everyone except you - but sometimes, that's not true - many people don't know others, but are very friendly and welcoming - and that's where the friendships start. Sometimes searching for meet ups for that day would be cool.. or maybe even starting your own meet up. But it's always nice to meet MWers, and through that one (or few), you meet more, and that's how it would seem that everyone knows everyone. TIP: When you're at a meet up, don't be shy to introduce yourself to those you don't know - the whole point of meet ups is to enjoy it with Disney friends, and MAKE Disney friends - we all know that is what it's for - so the initial introduction is less awkward than it would be randomly on the street. TIP: IF you see someone who looks lost or alone at their maybe first meet up - say hi and be the one to introduce yourself - make them feel welcome, and more friendships can be made... if all else fails, just creepily DM people at random. (just kidding on that last one O_o) - LaTruce 2259.5 #54 11-12-12 2:52PMLike(8)Reply
You have to bring a sacrificial goat, a long black cloak, and try the cool aid! 😜Joking. But just keep a look out in the lounge for meet ups or in park RAKs! They're posted almost daily and very fun to go to! You've probably even met some already! Just sitting on a bench on BVS I started talking to a lady next to me, asked her if she knew about MW, turns out she's got an account!(: we're everywhere and super friendly! Also, there's a 'meet up land' that had daily updates of the meet ups happening that day! Hope you meet some people soon(: - AvidDisneyThrifter220 1398.4 #104 11-12-12 2:18PMLike(2)Reply

Ouch... Watch out the MouseWait fashion police are out in force on this topic! I would suggest that you wear what ever you want. The only objection I would have is that you may not want to wear such a stunning costume if and only if one has a muffin top or bottom for that matter, but if you have the figure to rock it then go for it! I am sure that the people that may criticize are the ones that could never pull the look off... Get to the park early and head straight to the main street train station.
Ask very nicely as well, you could even mention surprising your wife. I witnessed one lady demanding to get on and the CM told her they were booked for the day, and not two minutes later a nice couple came in and asked for their anniversary and he somehow found two spots for them. Being nice and respectful always gets you far. - Sarafina 461.8 #422 8-13-12 9:32PMLike(2)Reply

Rooms look nice in the photos but in person, not so much. I was there 3 weeks ago I was expecting a nice place...it was just ehh, a muggy room.
I have stayed at the Portifino many times, and thought it was fine. The walk was a bit longer than from somewhere like the HoJo, but not bad at all. The kid's suite is nice, two rooms separated by a French door. Each room has its own tv. The kids' room has a microwave and refrig if I remember correctly, as well as a bunk bed and small table. Nothing super fancy, but clean and safe and staff was friendly. Also, it's Labor Day weekend (and Half Marathon), so hotels are filling up and more expensive. I say stay there and your husband planned well. Good for him! - PrincessKristin 780.8 #213 8-5-12 8:25PMLike(2)Reply

I have stayed at the Grand Californian. It is an awesome hotel. Not only is it beautiful but it is also the closest to the parks. Unfortunately it is also the most expensive but so worth it.
We have stayed at all three. I prefer the Grand. I like fresh air and they have balconies in every room. But I think it's only worth the cost if you have a park view room. Watching the park wake up and go to sleep is awesome. Plus, you are so close to GRR that you can go on 10 x. Get soaked then go change. Lol. The DL hotel is nice. The light up beds are great but no fresh air unless you are on a top floor. PP is great for the view and the rooms are bigger. But I would only stay with an upper floor view room. But honestly, you will love whichever one you stay at. After all... It's Disney! ;-) - SueBayou 2019.6 #65 8-5-12 6:41PMLike(6)Reply

We've stayed at the DL and the Grand. For some reason we prefer the DL hotel. The rooms have more spaced in them and the pool is more fun at the DL hotel. I have 7 year old triplet boys and when we stayed at the Grand, we had a nice park view but we didn't feel as though we had quite enough room for all of us. The DL hotel has a sofa in the room that turns into a bed. The Grand doesn't have that option in their standard rooms. IDK about the rooms on the concierge level. Also, the bathrooms in the Grand were much smaller than the bathrooms in the DL hotel. - hueydeweyandlouie 73.6 #3862 8-5-12 7:34PMLikeReply

Then if you are a target pharmacy rewards member and fill 5 prescriptions a month you will get a 5 percent off card. With theses both you can buy Disney gift cards at 10 percent off face value.
