From the bottom of my heart I thank all of you for reading the story and just thinking of him. He's been a great friend and to all who are graced by his prescence......you just overwhelmingly know he's such a pure soul. If you are able to assist, I bow down to you. I may have a few issues getting back up. Really. I do thank you. - Butterlina 1653.1 #120 7-31-14 10:18PMLike(17)Reply
OMG! I just wanted to thank admin and all of my MWer family for thinking of me. I know I haven't been on mw for such a long time. The people I have met thru this wonderful app have become like family to me. The most beautiful and memorable times of my life have been spent with MWers both in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I'm so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and continued prayers. I'm so thankful to admin fir allowing me to be part of this family. I hope I'll be able to get back out to Disneyland soon for more fun adventures. I'm sending each and everyone of you a big hug. Love you - UppityEmpress 786.9 #11 8-1-14 8:04AMLike(12)Reply
Happy 59th Birthday Disneyland! Great post to remind of how it was. I cannot imagine ONLY 2 boats for the Jungle Cruise- glad they got a few more😂. That pic of the chairs you mentioned, I liked the shades, above. Though at 101°, there does not look like much shade and back then, pretty sure the guests did not bring their CamelBaks. How frightening in Fantasyland😱. That picture of the man trying to get his toddler, I can't place where that is but, goodness, BUSY! I think I would have been delighted with walking through the castle and Peter Pan's Flight. Thanks again and have a wonderful day at Disneyland!! 👉👉📅 cool emoji with DLR's birthdate!! - misschurro 9192.9 #12 7-17-14 6:20AMLike(3)Reply
Awesome post as usual SMK! Thanks for taking the time to do this, I never get tired of watching old YouTube videos of Walt and Disneyland! - Admin 7-17-14 10:10AMLike(1)Reply

If I could have gone, I would have gone straight to Peter Pan, because all he ever did was be out side, go on adventures and have fun! Plus his hat was my favorite😊Thanks for all the great Disney history lessons😘 @Duchess_SMK - MadameLeota 4737.6 #34 7-18-14 2:52PMLikeReply
You can get security to escort kids like that? We've seen this so many times and never seen disciplinary action. I'm sorry you're ride experience was ruined. - hitchhiking-pirate 12.5 #10503 6-5-14 8:38AMLikeReply
Yep, they were doing it on Mansion the other day. Hollering to each other from car to car. Would love to videotape them and show their mothers. - Taunton 2601.5 #65 6-6-14 7:24AMLikeReply
Welcome to MW! You can get something known as a DAS card for your autistic child. If you need more info about that feel free to ask. Enjoy your Disneyland visit! - missmimi90 2069.3 #92 3-27-14 11:22PMLike(1)Reply
when you get to Disneyland, or DCA go into city hall and request a DAS card. It is NOT a fastpass but a way for people with disabilities to avoid the long lines but still have to wait the normal time. be prepared to explain your situation, most CM"s are more than wonderful about it, if not, ask for someone else, you are your child's advocate. it is for six max guests and for the duration of your trip or two weeks if you have an AP and if you ask for a six pass, you must have all six with you when you get the pass. They will give you choice of which attraction you want to go on and your wait time will be the current one minus 10 minutes. you then can go to the attraction and wait and take it easy or get your child ready to go on it or eat or whatever. then you go in the das line so you won't have to be around a lot of other people that will get your child too upset, but yet you did wait for the attraction just like everyone else, just in your own way. when you are done with the attraction, you go to one of the DAS stations, say, fantasyland or by HM and ask for another pass for an attraction. this keeps it fair for everyone. hope this info helps, city hall will tell you the rest!!! - secretagentangel 11199.9 #9 3-27-14 11:56PMLike(1)Reply
I've posted old pics at the parks before and they were appreciated and accepted .
Throwback Thursday has kind of been an unofficial thing here on MW that has trickled over from IG. Before, Admin used to have themed days in the Lounge like Attraction picture days, Character picture day, CM day, and Retro day. Like all pictures, if its Disney related and brings quality to the Lounge, then feel free to post it. - BaseballMickey 8884.4 #14 3-13-14 11:41AMLike(1)Reply
My throwbacks are from like a year ago cause I never had the opportunity to go to Disneyland as a child. I have no idea if that bothers people or not because they aren't from like 1960. - missmimi90 2069.3 #92 3-13-14 8:37PMLike(1)Reply
As long as it doesn't end up like spam I'm okay with any pictures - E-Ticket 1642.8 #122 3-14-14 7:33AMLikeReply
I haven't been here all that long, but I can deffinatly say that I enjoy the throwbacks that show what the park looked like before I was born, I'm only 22, it's cool to see how much some things have changed and how some things have stayed the same. I think that's usually the best part of a throwback is to be able to conpare. - WonTonInWonderland 120.4 #3384 3-14-14 9:39AMLikeReply
Well my Disneyland addiction is all my husbands fault. He took me there for my first time when I was 17 and that's when I became hooked. I never let him forget he's responsible for feeding my habit now! He's truly the most amazing human being on Gods green earth and I am so very thankful every day for his presence in my life. Thanks Dan, and it's really all your fault, you started it! Lol - DisneyGrandma 890.8 #242 3-12-14 10:03AMLike(1)Reply
Fun post. My SW is not a huge Disney fanatic like myself. However, when he sees me on MW he always asks if everything is good with the parks. He also agreed to passes for the whole family this past July, including himself. He can only handle small spurts and hates it when it is really crowded. But I think the passes has had a positive effect on him. Now sometimes he says "I think we need a Disney day on Saturday." He is enjoying the experience more than he use to. Since July he has been to the parks 6 times which is huge for him. I and the minis however, have gone about 20 times. LOL. - potatohead25 837.6 #261 3-12-14 9:24PMLikeReply

Even though I was still a kid when the original things were in place, I still remember them and was really upset when they changed them later. I've always thought that the political correctness and women's groups got in the way of the point that this is what pirates were actually like. You can't change history. And as a kid, I didn't know that the fat pirate was saying suggestive things - I just knew he was looking for that girl. I didn't even realize she was a teenager. Despite the fact that I loved the first Pirates movie,I liked the ride better without the movie tie ins for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is that now everyone assumes the ride was based on the movie and not the other way around. But I tend to like things the way Walt made them... - DisneyOnesie 621.2 #376 3-7-14 8:08AMLike(2)Reply
It's a great ride regardless of the changes made to it,but the Captain Jack at the end of the ride creeps me out big time. - bonedaddy909 1904.4 #106 3-7-14 7:47AMLike(1)Reply
This is an awesome post and I love reading everyone's reasons for their favorite versions. Personally, I love the original because of all the memories it brings back. Makes me feel old when I can say, "I remember when...." But that's part of the nostalgia and magic! - shortyrock760 37.7 #5771 3-8-14 7:40AMLikeReply
I have to agree that it was disappointing when they made the changes and love remembering it the old way as a kid. - sallen848 777.4 #288 3-16-14 9:43AMLikeReply

So I got an update as to what happened to him and why he was in the hospital.....apparently he had a perforated ulcer. He passed out in the elevator at the studio. Just happened that the other passenger on the elevator was the studio nurse - and the studio is directly across the street from the hospital! What a crazy story... - MissMolly 1402.6 #146 2-28-14 8:44AMLike(1)Reply

There isn't really a short way because critter country doesn't connect to any other lands directly but NOS. Head for Adventureland, through New Orleans Square, past Haunted Mansion and to Splash. You won't have a super long wait for Splash first thing in the morning and most people headed the direction you would be going are trying to get to Haunted Mansion - missmimi90 2069.3 #92 11-14-13 6:41AMLikeReply

Disneyland nurses are great. I had firsthand experience with one on sat after I fell in toy story parking lot. Not only was she taking care of me she was just as worried about my son who saw everything. She was great with him giving him a Minnie nurse stickers and talking with him. - DSNYCheeks3 868.1 #253 11-11-13 6:17PMLike(3)Reply
Hope everyone is okay....good reminder to not just listen to, but obey the safety regs! - DisneyDavidEMT 2835.9 #59 11-11-13 5:53PMLikeReply
I'm thinking of it this way, 1. The rule is that if they can't touch the ground, you put the kids towards the center of the tram, not kids in general exactly. So if the kids older and feet touch the floor, they can sit on the outside. Also the safety spiel only says keep hands arms feet and legs inside at all times, and "please watch your children" and that's kind of it. 2. Not everyone knows that the doors do not lock. I've seen plenty of people attempt to board the tram and can't open the door because they think it's locked. The kid could've been messing with the door without knowing that (even though that is probably something they shouldn't do either). Sure the parents still should've been watching (and could have been) and whatever, but we can't exactly just jump to conclusions... /rant - MEHlanie_Mouse 1117.3 #192 11-11-13 11:10PMLikeReply

I went to the coke museum in atlanta this summer and I was disappointed that there was not one word mentioned about cokes partnership with disney. they had a olde timey fountain/counter that reminded me of coke corner though - lorelaismom 15.8 #9101 11-11-13 12:12PMLikeReply
and remember they do sell other canes most days that look exactly like this and are the same recipe but made off site and not same day fresh. it is a lot of fun to get one of these but don't despair, if you cannot come to get a wristband, they have look/taste alikes. and sometimes the best place to find those are in Pooh corner. - secretagentangel 11199.9 #9 11-8-13 8:37PMLike(6)Reply
