My husband and I keep forgetting to look for the petrified tree (stump) in between Mark Twain and POTC. Is it still there? Anyone know the history of that stump?
For their 35th anniversary, which was only days before Opening Day in 1955, Walt wanted to give Lillian the right gift. After celebrating their anniversary with family and friends in the Golden Horseshoe and with rides on the Mark Twain, Walt presented it to her. Those who knew the couple said they were the kind of couple who always gave themselves weird gifts, because they could almost buy anything. On one of their vacations, Walt purchased the tree for their anniversary. Not knowing what to do with it, she donated it to the park, where it still lives today. - BaseballMickey_CM5043.9 #12 3-6-14 10:21PMLike(1)Reply

Walt gave it as a gift to Lillian, who promptly gifted it to DL. - JenGwen323867.9 #151 3-6-14 8:26PMLikeReply
Pin Trading locations in Disney California Adventure Park
Here is an unofficial list of More...
I like that the CMs at Star Traders is trying to bring back Vinylmation trading back into the parks. That have little side pouches with vinylmations on them to trade (like the pin ones). - Chumash28909.1 #141 3-6-14 5:15PMLikeReply
Thanks BaseballMickey_ CM! We've completely missed a few of these on our last few trips! Excited to check them out next time. - TiggersAndTinks13.6 #7104 3-6-14 6:42PMLikeReply
Today lets thank all the hardworking moms out there who I believe have the hardest jobs.
In a couple months, I will be a stay at home mom of 3 girls. 5, 3 & newborn. I will definitely have my hands full! - Armenda1115.0 #102 3-5-14 8:36AMLike(1)Reply
Yes, but so worth it! Thank you for taking the time to recognize us! If I could and we could financially afford it (or if we lived in Washington) I'd be a stay at home mom. I'd also like to recognize those single dads out there who are doing the parenting role all on their own. It's a tough job to handle! - IDVandalSkipperCM1730.8 #61 3-5-14 8:46AMLike(1)Reply

Intresting article about the new influx of Disneyland Social Clubs, gangs, groups, whatever you watnt to call themwhen you read about all the stuff that they do and all the ways that they act at the parks its almost the exact More...
I'm personally apart of two meetup groups. The reason why Idon't go to Mouse wait reunions & meet ups is that they are announced on a newsfeed and I just can't jump in my car and race to the park. Not everyone has $17.00 each time to park at the deck and a lot of the people in the photos for the meet ups are 1/2 my age (I'll be 42 in a month). With the reunions, I never get picked like the bowling night that started off the bowling league. Lastly, with the groups that meet at the bakery pIace this past year, I can't afford to eat there. The reason I go to this meetup groups is that I'll meet more people my own age. I don't go to their meet ups on the weekends because mine is a M-F. I go to a meetup on a Friday night in DCA. It lasts only a couple of hours an that tides me over until I go to the parks on my own. - oceanfan9048.2 #4198 2-27-14 7:30PMLike(3)Reply
Interesting article Dave. Ty. I personally have had a negative experience with one club that, sadly has ruined it IMO for the rest of them. I would like to keep an open mind but it's hard as beatlemike said when you know a lot of them are exclusionary-using words like "elite" in their titles and ranking people within the group. Kind of odd, and a tad childish. But all of that aside, as long as when I'm in the parks I am not bothered or harassed, I would do the same in return, since we're all there to have fun 😀 - missariel331057.2 #116 2-27-14 10:31PMLike(3)Reply
all I have to say, is that I didn't realize LaBreaBakery validated parking in DTD. Hurrah! thank you MrsSchnooks - FrankenweenieVelinee484.8 #328 2-28-14 9:21AMLikeReply

Every time I see multiple clubs on main street I think there is going to be a Westside story like dance battle. lol - TheRetroNerd27.2 #5159 2-14-14 2:40PMLike(3)Reply
There have been several times that the SCs you mention have intimidated other guests (at least what I have personally seen or been told by non-frequent guests). Some see the vests as intimidating even if there is no need to be intimidated. A first time visitor looking at a group of vest-wearing individuals nestled into what may look like gangs for all they know may be unsure as to their reasons, purpose or intent. - missmimi901196.3 #91 2-13-14 3:39PMLike(2)Reply
Unfortunately, stigmas and stereotypes don't appear out of thin air. And the negative comments u read were spurred on by negative experiences with clubs/members. Not that I care one way or the other. I have never seen multiple clubs/members comingling with others. Ie. never landers with mse etc. if u feel the need to wear vest to separate or identify yourselves from others or to feel special thats up to u. I personally have never needed to gain approval from a group just so I can feel accepted. Hopefully more positive interaction between sc members and non will help remove the stigma. But I don't care. If u wear vest or separate ur self from the normal populous you're asking for attention. And many will interperate that as exclusion and thinking your special. - FarelMickey109.4 #3145 2-14-14 9:12PMLikeReply
