#DisneyOnaBudget ✅ So here goes: we are coming on our next trip on a huge budget. I've managed to squeeze in the 4th of July weekend with the family and sending hubby home on Sunday for work and staying til Thursday with a good friend. More...
I've got a few... 1) Our Target usually has the Smart Water bottles they sell in the parks for $1. I buy at least 3 for each day we will be there and freeze them. That way they stay cold all day. I carry one and put the others in the backpack. 2) The picnic area lockers! These lockers are bigger than the ones inside the parks and the esplanade and you don't have to take the stuff through bag check. You could fit a small ice chest in one of the large lockers and keep cool items. We once mixed up some tuna and kept that, bread (well, we forgot the bread which resulted in some creativity lol), snacks like Cheezits, etc. Then you can keep all your meals in there and the patio is usually pretty empty. PLUS you're still on property!!! 3) I got this one from MW. If you have a Target Red Card, purchase Disney gift cards with it when you can. You'll get 5% off (plus whatever you get on your AP) 4) I have several apps on my phone that I use to build up rewards. I then redeem those rewards for Starbucks gift cards that can be used in all the park locations. We've gotten a whole meal for free with this! The sandwiches they have at the DCA location are yummy! Here are my regular apps: Viggle (check in on tv), Shopkick (scan items on your phone when shopping), Mom uses Mango Health (check in when you take your daily medications, including vitamins!). I'm sure there's plenty more, but they're SUPER easy!!! - SPandEvLover 3101.3 #36 6-5-14 3:28PMLike(8)Reply
Definitely utilize Costco. People have this impression that I have all this $$ to come to Disneyland everyday and that couldn't be further from the truth. I SAVE money by being here. I bring my own drinks & snacks like Triscuits, trail mix, apples and other tough fruits that can withstand the backpack; also Cliff & other snack bars. It saves a ton of money & energy. - apesandmonkeys 7554.5 #4 6-5-14 1:37PMLike(5)Reply
Great tips thanks for posting this! I think everything I was going to say was covered. Oh maybe one thing along with using Costco. If you're going to eat at restaurants then get the discounted gift cards to the restaurant of your choice there. They have $100 gift cards for $74.95. - AriellesMom 91.8 #3513 6-30-14 10:23AMLikeReply
Frozen water bottles, jerkey, pop tarts and Pringles are always in our backpack. If we really are trying to save money, we walk to McDonald's for lunch. - FoolishMortal138 326.6 #676 6-30-14 11:20AMLikeReply
For those of you without annual passes like myself, ARES travel is offering two great specials. Adults pay the kid's price for 3-day, 4-day or 5-day Hopper Tickets. Or, they also have 3-day or 4-day Hopper Tickets with One Ext More...
Have you ever bought from them before? Worried about it being a scam...😁 but if it's real I will DEF be buying my tickets for our upcoming trip from them! Thanks for the info! - WirTANenAtDisney 100.9 #3396 5-20-14 12:04PMLikeReply
Orbitz also has the buy a 3 day hopper and get the 4th day free. We purchased through orbitz for our trip back in February and everything worked out well. Going to purchase again for our next trip in July. - Nikkia2020 7.2 #11848 5-20-14 8:51PMLikeReply
Awesome! Makes me feel wayyy better that you talked to the resort!! We may just have a gem 💎!!! - DisneyBallers 25.1 #5783 5-20-14 9:13PMLikeReply
I asked this on the WDW side, but thought I should ask here, too, since a good number of you have been to WDW. The plan is to rent DVC points for our upcoming trip in Nov 2014(the week after Thanksgiving). Family of four, kids age 6 and 1 More...
If you don't mind me asking what kind of budget are you working with? Are you going super nice hotels or looking at the moderate ones? - lostgirl7988 697.6 #235 12-27-13 11:24AMLikeReply
I should have been more clear. Which Deluxe Villa Resort Studio or 1 Bedroom would you stay at and why? The cost (via renting points) is the same as booking a moderate Disney hotel. - GoofyMom77 634.3 #269 12-27-13 12:27PMLikeReply
We stayed at the old key west villas with our DVC. It's a nice hotel, but I do recommend staying at a hotel that is connected to the monorail. We had to wait for the busses and most many times by the time it got to our resort the busses were full. We actually waited 45 min just to get a bus ride to the parks. That was pretty disappointing. - MrsMinnie 58.5 #4149 12-30-13 10:34PMLikeReply
