Considering many of you are locals, I thought this would be a good place to ask what my family should do in the three days that we have during our vacation where we will not be in Disneyland. We have already experienced Universal Studios   More...

I am not local, but we were just down there and we really enjoyed the CA Science Centre.  It is free to get in but you do have to pay for the special exhibits/IMAX.  They have a Dead Sea Scroll exhibit right now, which does sell out, and it was interesting with a lot of ancient artifacts.  They also have the Endeavour there, which is fascinating to see also.  We also did SeaWorld in San Diego.  I understand there is a lot of controversy surrounding it, but we did enjoy it.  If you go to SeaWorld, check online about the All Day Dining pass..... $30 for unlimited meals in 4 restaurants all day long....we were piggies but loved it. - dianeburns1998   169.2 #2588 7-7-15 8:51PM Like(2)  Reply

Putting a Starbucks in Disneyland may not have been the most popular idea, but I think it was well executed and looks as if it belongs on Main Street U.S.A. (Photo taken on my last trip)
I like it too. Β I enjoyed the charm of the former coffee shop, but the coffee itself wasn't great and it was inconsistently made. Β I don't think Starbucks' coffee is the best I've ever had, but it is good and I appreciate their consistency and that they move people through quickly. Β They retained most of the charm, and set it up to handle more people efficiently. Β  - Spoonful_O_Sugar   713.5 #333 8-13-14 9:22PM Like(4)  Reply
While it's nice and good product, I feel the service inside this joint adventure is slow inside the park while the DTD store is very quick no matter how crowded and the product is slightly better there  - Plumiegirl  10907.8 #11 8-14-14 9:04AM

Just seeing this now...I did the program back in 2011 and have stayed with the Company since. I did the January-August program because it is the longer of the two choices. I was also at CSUF taking a full load of classes at the same time. Since you're a sophomore (the same age I did it),I would wait to either after you graduate or take a semester off because 1, you'll be working almost full time and you will be taking classes at DL also. Overall though I had a great experience. The classes you take give you the opportunity to meet CMs from all over the resort and the chance to network with many of the higher up CMs in management. Also, there are many magical experiences that you can take part in like tours of the Dream Suite, Walt's Apartment and riding Space Mountain with the lights on for a couple hours (these will vary depending on your term). To answer your question about WDW/DL, the WDW program is about 3-4 times larger than DL's because their resort is a lot bigger. If you like a smaller group, I would recommend DL. And no, after working at the park now for 3 years, the magic still lives on. To be honest, you do loose it a little when you first start because the entire operation can be a little overwhelming, but as you continue to interact with guests and watch the park from a different perspective then before, it renews it in you and it keeps going. - BaseballMickey   9141.7 #14 2-17-14 8:28PM Like  Reply

You did a great job outlining their travel package! I used them to book our trip for November - they were courteous and very professional. They also booked direct flights for us, set us up with ground transportation from the airport and a rental car we pick-up in DTD and return to the airport when we depart! I will definitely use them again! - DreadPiratesRogers   852.9 #264 7-9-13 10:08PM Like(1)  Reply

I use and I have always had good luck. With the 3 day park hopper passes you can usually find a good hotel that will give you a fourth night free, plus you get one early entry and lanyards as well as wrist bands. 🐭 - LeftyLightning   468.8 #539 7-9-13 10:26PM Like(1)  Reply

I almost always stay on katella. I like the location of the anabella, best western, discovery inn, and Eden roc. The first two are a little nicer, the last two are a little scary. All of them are in a great spot to cut through the grand. Not a bad walk at all. Haven't used hotelopia, so I can't help you with that. - LittleAprilShowers   588.9 #404 6-17-13 9:22PM Like  Reply
Thank you so much! So for the last two, define scary.. Haha. And would you say the walking distance is about the same from Katella as it is from Harbor? - MallE  164.3 #2664 6-17-13 9:44PM
Not scary, just old, I've stayed at both. Ugly decor, but they had beds and showers which was all we needed, since we spent every waking hour in the park. Did need my own pillow though, but im picky like that. They are a farther walk than the hojo, but it's just a short stroll to the grand ( - LittleAprilShowers  588.9 #404 6-17-13 9:49PM
Mousewaits hotel is Howard Johnson and they have info on here about it. I usually stay with best western and use a aaa discount. The close one on katella is BW stovalls. You can walk to the park through grand California via downtown Disney. Check it out if you're aaa you save a bunch. - Marciamcmouse   65.0 #4594 6-17-13 9:26PM Like  Reply
