Not so hypothetical question- If you were going to stay in an Orange County hotel for a month, where would you stay and why? Also, in this scenario you'd have a family of six and you wouldn't want to eat out every single day.
I had to stay at a Marriot Residence Inn when my room caught on fire, they have apartment suites with a kitchen. It was very comfortable and spacious. It was a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite, but you could possibly check to see if they offered roll away beds or if the couch converts to a bed. Hope this helps :) - Armenda994.9 #89 4-24-12 1:17PMLike(1) Reply

This is a problem more common in fancy goldfish, and there is no cure for it. Feeding medicated food (see bottom of page), adding salt to the tank, feeding peas, and raising the temperature to 76 degrees may help but only for a short time. Eventually the fish may be unable to eat and will have to be euthanized.
Feed your fish a couple of peas. That's right, peas. Just get some frozen peas, thaw them, and feed them to your fish. A professor of fish medicine at N.C. State College of Veterinary Medicine has done this in several cases with very good results. He thinks that the peas somehow encourage destruction of the impaction. No hard scientific data yet, but it's worth a try.
Fast your fish for a couple of days. Withhold all food for three or four days, and sometimes this alone will break up the impaction and return things to normal. Most fish can go a week to ten days without food and be just fine.
Periodic aspiration of the swim bladder works very well. Basically, you stick a needle in the swim bladder and suck out some of the air. Not something to be entered into lightly, but does work well. This is not a cure, but a successful treatment. The head veterinarian at the Baltimore Aquarium prefers this method. - PrettyPixie759.2 #132 1-18-11 6:20PMLike Reply

Having an off day! Woke up to no furnace. Appears the motor is blown. Also we are sitting under a foot of snow so the timing is just perfect.

What hotels have you stayed at? Pros and cons of each? Might be helpful info for people planning trips.
We like Park Vue Inn. Very close, not too $$ and it's always been clean and we've always had good service - TickledTink352.8 #407 12-10-10 9:48PMLike Reply
love the annabella across the street. walking distance and i love how its only two stories high. not your typical hotel. very spanish feeling!!! always stay there. - Kittymeowmeow271.3 #815 12-10-10 9:50PMLike Reply
Candy Cane Inn fir the reasons above, plus the breakfast has lots of nice choices, the rooms are nicely decorated and clean and you can park vey close to your room. Also the grounds are beautiful with flowers, cobblestone, etc. With AAA discount it's about $110 nightly. We have also stayed at Desert Inn and Suites when we need suites. it's right across from the entrance, clean and usually inexpensive. But parking is sorry, the breakfast is very little, the pool is indoors and not attractive. - ally440.9 #4 12-11-10 5:35AMLike Reply
We like Embassy Suites North they go for about $100 for the night and the south one is $145 only becasue they are closer to the parks but the North one does offer shuttle to Dland and they also have a full hot breakfast for free all you can eat with your stay with mangers' reception which means around 5-7 you get free drinks and popcorn that includes drinks from the bar. They are clean and we have had great service there! - litswtsmile161.3 #2134 12-11-10 6:17AMLike Reply

Would you guys mind helping me with something? Can you post your best tip for enjoying Christmas at DL? For example, best place to watch the parade, best place to see the snow, best hot drink and where it is from, etc.
While seeing the fireworks in front of the Castle is GREAT! I really love watching them back by Small World. They make the front of the ride part of the show, by projecting inshore onto the building. It's a lot of fun! And in my experience, it seems to snow more back there. - Sweet_Irish_Cream2586.3 #21 12-2-10 12:05PMLike Reply
Well I guess I'll say that you know it's gonna be a madhouse. You know it's gonna be all gussied up. So best thing to do is don't fret about oh we gotta go do this and that. It's too stressful. Just walk slowly. Maybe stand to the side and just savor the beauty. Use senses you neglect. Smell the pipe under the candy palace window. Listen to the beautiful music floating all around you. See old and young eyes sparkle with delight. Taste a holiday treat you've forbidden yourself to relish. Touch the warmth that overcomes you. And then kick me in the head fir being such a sappy fool. Lol. So what time again am I picking you up from the airport????? - Butterlina1307.8 #62 12-2-10 3:47PMLike Reply
