a gift/surprise for my wife. one of their in room celebrations. Was very cool and she loved it! This is my first time staying at DL hotel. All the little touches are awesome. The robes are monogrammed for each one of us.
Thanks everyone. She was definitely surprised. The dinner at Carthay was incredible and if you can I think you should try the chef's sampling. Its incredible. After that we finally decided to watch world of color for the first time. Awesome show. So far the anniversary trip has been incredible. - Mickey_Badge242.5 #1102 6-11-13 1:36PMLike Reply
My wife and I visiting the parks soon and we have never eaten at the Carthay Restaurant. Should we make reservations or do they accept walk ins? Also, is there a dress code for the Carthay? Thank you for your help MW!
Ok. thank you for the feedback. We are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary so I think I will be calling to make reservations in the next few minutes. - Mickey_Badge242.5 #1102 6-6-13 9:13AMLike(1) Reply
Just to let you know. If you make your reservation for about 8:40ish and request the north balcony?( the one facing Hollywood and Buena vista st. It makes for a Fantastic firework dinner. And they also pump the music thru the speakers. That's will be for our next trip 😊 - mini_MINNIE 434.8 #292 6-6-13 9:24AM
Reservations are always good, but they do walk-ins too. The most I've waited is 20 minutes on a busy day. Whatever you are wearing in the park is okay for the restaurant, it is in the park after all. If it were outside in the general public I'd say jacket and tie/nice dress would be appropriate- but since it's in the park nobody expects that. Enjoy. - Firelt221.4 #1369 6-6-13 11:03AMLike(1) Reply

My wife and I will be flying into Sna airport to celebrate our ten year anniversary. Can anyone recommend a shuttle or car service to pick up at the airport and bring us to the Disneyland hotel? Thank you for your help MW!
Yes! We just did this last week. We took SNA shuttle. You make reservations on line or you can call (949) 586 4347. It is 8 dollars per person per way. And they will let you schedule a round trip for 16. It was easy to find when you get out of baggage claim just cross the street at the light and go all the way to the end. It says ground transportation and there is a guy in an orange vest. Just say you made a reservation with SNA shuttle and they point you to the right van. There were a few others in the van with us so we did make one or two stops before getting to the hotel, but they were all in the Disneyland area. All in all definitely worth the 8 dollar price. We had to leave straight from the park to catch a flight on the way back to we took a cab just to be safe, but if you aren't in a major hurry I would recommend taking it back too. Again for 8 bucks ya can't beat it! - evilqueensmistress285.0 #718 5-1-13 7:17PMLike(3) Reply
So I have just booked our flight for my wife and I to visit the park the week of June 10th for our 10 yr anniversary. Two days in the parks with no kids! We are extremely excited. We have never stayed on site before. Which hotel do you pr More...
They are both great. Its a hard choice. I like the grand a little better because of the balcony in the room and the short walking distance but sharirenee makes a great point. Be sure to let the cms know its your anniversary when you book your room, they usually do something extra for special occasions. - Twitterpated233.7 #1212 4-1-13 11:23AMLike(1) Reply
Especially for no-kiddo getaway, no doubt about it - The Grand. - mouseprincess307.9 #585 4-1-13 10:26AMLike Reply
Depends on what you're looking for. The decor of the rooms in the Grand is rather plain to me, it's like many other such hotels, but maybe you like hanging out on the balcony in the morning and proximity to the parks. If you get a park view room, you might be able to watch WOC. You could also book services at the mandara spa for some pampering. Disneyland hotel is special for it's disney magic. The headboard and the pool are fantastic. View-wise, you might be able to see the fireworks, I think. - bluefairy628.9 #175 4-1-13 1:32PMLike Reply
Thank you for all of the ideas. After doing some reading we are also going to throw in Paradise Pier into the mix. We want the magic of disney in our stay but also throw in some extra little things. - Mickey_Badge242.5 #1102 4-1-13 1:48PMLike Reply
I've never been in a regular guestroom at pp, only the suites, so I can't comment on the room itself. However, nice views of dca (and WOC). You can walk across the street through the grand to get to dtd and the parks. - bluefairy 628.9 #175 4-1-13 2:12PM
I am thinking about planning our 10 year anniversary at Disneyland around June 10th. We are wondering what time the park closes during this time of year? Thank you in advance!
You can really get some great one liners from them.
My favorite conversation I heard as I walked behind them: "What's your favorite number, my dear?" asked Hatter. "Two," replied Alice. "TWO? Why two?" asked Hatter. "Well, there are two of us, aren't there?" quipped Alice. "Oh, my goodness. You are correct. Two shall be my favorite number, too," Hatter responded. We've done it quite a few times, and it's a blast for princesses.
