What's DLR policy on protecting the wildlife there? On our most recent visit, the boys where running around the table at Jolly Holiday, and a duckling ran under their feet and was accidentally trampled. The poor little duck is gone, the More...
I'm not sure I understand... Were they your boys that were running around the table and trampled the duckling? Disney seems to take good care of the wildlife but if children are running around a restaurant, albeit outdoors, they should be taking more heed of their surroundings. Or not running around tables. 😔 - cesium55529.7 #216 6-7-12 10:31AMLike(3) Reply
A) I did not need to read this on a family friendly, vacation-themed message board. B) Are you saying you should be compensated by Disney because an animal, a part of nature that Disney cannot control, was in the wrong place at the wrong time and encountered children running around the tables at an eating establishment like it's a playground? You expect me to feel bad for you? C) I don't feel bad for your kid, I feel bad for the dead duckling. Ugh. I don't often rant like this but please delete this post. It's gross. - LaneSparrow316846.9 #108 6-7-12 10:58AMLike(3) Reply
i have to admit this makes me very sad and angry as well. Disney really does take great care of the wild life in their parks (and it cant be easy, there are a lot of ducks that call the parks home) I often see people trying to touch and pick up the ducklings and chasing adult ducks. I agree with gia they should be left alone. I cannot stand when a parent ignores a child touching a duckling, its not right. it sounds like this incident was an accident, but you cannot blame disney for it happening! - Pixarprincess531.4 #215 6-7-12 11:03AMLike Reply
and if i was eating at jolly holiday next to a family whos children were running around in the eating area i would be annoyed and probably say something, its not the place for horseplay! - Pixarprincess 531.4 #215 6-7-12 11:04AM
Yes, this could have been avoided by you being a responsible parent and not letting them run around in a restaurant and having them being aware of their surroundings. My 3 year old knows not to run around in a restaurant, has since she could walk, so do my 2 older boys. You got FPs because your child killed a innocent living being. I hope you feel very proud of yourself. If my chidren did that we would have gone home and they would be grounded until who knows when! - Autoalice135.7 #2508 6-7-12 11:09AMLike Reply
We haven't been to the parks in a few months as we have been avoiding the summer crowds. Browsing through pics on the lounge has been a great way to ease the withdrawal but know I have the song from soundsational stuck in my head. Good th More...

We are going to Orlando in a few weeks to visit the inlaws. Of course we are going to the parks while we are there. Does anyone know of something like MouseWait for Disney world, or does the west coast just rock more!
There are several just search in the app store! Too bad MW Florida isn't available yet but we did get to beta test it while we were there a few weeks ago! - Dreamseeker526.9 #219 3-9-11 6:59AMLike Reply

Hi friends. I just wanted to thank all of you for being part of the amazing MW community. You have helped make our time in the parks and planning for visits far more enjoyable.
A little help if you don't mind ...
We were thinking More...
These massive crowds are beyond explanation. Last year was not so crowded once the Christmas decoration came down I believe they will keep them till the 3rd. - Mom2mm60.7 #3567 1-1-11 4:32PMLike Reply
I went on the last day of the Christmas season, Jan 3, last year. We got there very early and both Indy and POTC were both walk ons. It got more and more crowded as the day went on and DL officially announced it was full. So, tip: Get There Early! - BaseballMickey_CM2854.1 #16 1-1-11 4:44PMLike Reply
i think its suppose to rain so that may scare the crowds away...ponchos maybe rainboots you should be good to go! - toph2398.9 #26 1-1-11 5:19PMLike Reply
This year was an anamoly. Two out of state teams to the Rose Bowl coupled with really bad weather made for the perfect storm of folks to DL. Pretty cool that so many folks showed up but man, folks patience was really tested. You should be fine starting next week as the crowds will be far less. - SETumbo295.7 #637 1-1-11 5:23PMLike Reply
