Hi all we are planning a trip out Nov 13-15. I have heard the holiday season may open Nov 15 how are crowds during opening day? Would the park close down early the day before for transition? By the time we go it will be 2 years since our More...
Hi! Holidays at the parks are beautiful. Always hard to predict crowds. I am sure you will have fun no matter what. I do think that a Wed-Fri. trip might be less busy. Getting to the parks as soon as they open also will give you extra time before it starts getting busy. - RadiatorSprings4Ever136.9 #2493 4-27-13 12:36PMLike Reply
Agree to coming right at opening. Can usually get a bunch of rides in before it starts to get real crowded in the afternoon/evening - lohofosho 287.4 #686 4-27-13 1:00PM
I am not sure about the holiday opening, but I know in general Saturday is the busiest day of the week there, so I would recommend a Wed-Fri trip! - lohofosho287.4 #686 4-27-13 12:37PMLike Reply

It brings tears to my eyes as I read your post. I am so deeply sorry for your lost. I lost my parents a few years ago only months apart. The pain that the heart feels is agonizing. It feels like a piece of you has died along with them. I was their caregiver for almost ten years and you watch the strongest people you have ever known dwindle down. Please take comfort in the fact that your mother had vitality and enjoyment of life almost til the very end. She got to see her daughter grow into a wonderful woman and meet her grandchildren. The people we love most in this world never really "die". They live on in the people they've touched, in the memories we have created, and in the reflection of you. What you are feeling right now is absolutely normal. Every minute of the day, sadness will overwhelm you. Please take your mother's love and turn it into strength. Your little ones need you to remind them grandma will always be in their hearts forever. The love you and your mother shared was a gift. Please be well. You are in my prayers. - Willierose1194.2 #68 2-1-12 4:27AMLike(36) Reply

This was lovely written. Bless you. I have lost a few very important people in my life but I can never say that they "died" because they are still here in my life...watching over me every day. Mrssumr we are all here for you and if you ever need ANYTHING please don't hesitate to contact one of us. Love you so much! - AshleyLynn22 747.6 #136 2-2-12 7:15PM
i am so sorry. i can't even begin to imagine what you're going through right now. sometimes you just need to vent and don't know who to talk to, especially when you have to put on a brave face for kids or others. just know i listened/am listening.<3 - nicoleface1279.5 #65 2-1-12 1:52AMLike(2) Reply
I am so incrediblely sorry for your loss. I know that nothing anyone says will take the pain away from you and your family. I am praying for you and your family. I know that you feel very lost and broken right now but please know that God loves you. I know it feels like God has left you but He is with you. As hard as it is to believe, this is part of God's plan for your life. You have to go through the dark valley before you get the the mountain top. God is protecting you and your family. Greater things are yet to come for you and your family. God is always with you. He died for you. He adores you. He will not give you anything that you are not strong enough to handle. Remember the good times you had with your mom and know how much she loves you. You will be reunited with her one day. Stay strong and be fearless. God will never leave you or foresake you. Jeremiah 29:11 says I know the plans I have for you, plans to keep you and not harm you. I promise I will continue to pray for you and your family. Just continue to follow God and remember that you are loved. God will never leave you. He loves you. - kayceeb111.4 #2890 2-3-12 12:19AMLike Reply
It pleases my heart to hear my words have helped. Heartache has been too frequent a visitor in my life. I wanted to express to you that life is precious and your mother seemed to have been blessed with such a loving family. Yes in time the pain will lessen, but the heart will always remain heavy from the weight of loss. You will learn to manage that with the love of your family and by surrounding yourself with everything life has to offer. My sisters have been my salvation. They are my strength. We have a bond that even death will never break. I see my parents in them everyday, whether in good or bad habits. LOL. It makes me smile. You will also one day be able to find comfort in the little reminders. Whether its her favorite food, her favorite flower, or her favorite saying, may it bring you a little bit of peace. - Willierose1194.2 #68 2-3-12 12:31AMLike Reply

When does everyone have their Spring Break in 2012? My son's is April 9-13 but he also has March 8-9 off. Thinking March would be better crowd wise. Any advice? Just returned last week and itching to go back :)
Spring Breaks at DL were 7 weeks this past year (mid March to late April). The earlier in March, the better - BaseballMickey_CM2863.5 #16 12-17-11 12:52PMLike(1) Reply

We stayed at DL w/concierge in May. I specificallty requested a renovated room. New pool area Is open now, but still construction going on. Two weeks ago we stayed at PP w/ concierge and we had the resort view. Was great seeing DCA from the window, make sure your room is above the trees. The walk to DD is not bad and you can hop on the monorail or cross the street and enter DCA thru GC. Ive stayed at GC a few times and we had a room with bunkbeds for the kids and they loved that! If your kids plan on spending time at the pool I'd go for DLH or the Grand. The pool at PP is on the roof and nothing special. If they're really into the pool - the new slide is open at DLH. Although it may not seem like it, the distance from the parks to the DL hotel can be a little far after a long day. The grand is nice and attached to DCA which makes for efficiency in and out of the parks. - lsmarz51.2 #3736 2-20-11 10:45AMLike Reply

If its possible, fly into John Wayne (SNA) instead. Only about 20 minutes from the park. There should be a resort shuttle from the airport, depending on which hotel you are staying at. - BaseballMickey_CM2863.5 #16 2-10-11 1:19PMLike Reply

I bought a lot of 40 on eBay for $29. It was our first time buying pins and was great cause then we found cm's that had pins we actually wanted. It's a lot of fun - my kids loving finding cm's! - CravingDisney150.1 #2296 1-23-11 2:21PMLike Reply
Ever been on a ride for the first time and it was completely different than you thought it would be?
Tower of Terror was so different than I imagined it kind of still scares me but it's crazy fun! - mrssumr64.1 #3517 1-17-11 3:06PMLike Reply

I read tonight that high inside the hollow Matterhorn is a basketball court. It's part of an employee break room and many LA Lakers have been up there to shoot hoops. That is crazy. Anyone know of any other crazy quirky things like this?
I've known about that one for a long time you also use to be able watch people climb up the side of the Matterhorn. But its been a few years since I've actually seen that. - KissDclown1088.1 #77 1-5-11 10:30PMLike Reply
its just a hoop not really a court at all - Dave 8671.6 #2 1-5-11 10:33PMLike Reply
