Question about the Jedi Training Academy... I looked on the DL website, but that didn't answer my question. Do they only select a few children from the crowd, or can anyone who wants to participate do it? My 6 year old loves Star Wars, bu More...

When during Christmas Break is a good tine to visit the parks? The week after Christmas or the week of New Year's?
Never during Xmas is it slow lol its always beyond packed.... to the point where they close the parks down.... i would say the week after new years when everyone goes back to work and skooo - VinylSteve515.4 #227 7-20-11 6:45PMLike Reply
What they said. It will more than likely be packed. Especially with a lot of schools being on Winter Break around that time - StephiePooh572.6 #193 7-20-11 6:49PMLike Reply
New Years day was pretty quiet last year. Depends what day of the week it falls on tho. If you have little ones that don't have to be in school it's great because you are not so limited - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint1799.2 #42 7-20-11 6:50PMLike Reply
Fun!!! He's going to love it! The CMs that trade exclusively with kids are AWESOME! Well, all the CMs are pretty much awesome :) - TandAlly213.5 #1437 6-20-11 7:55AMLike Reply

We were at DL and DCA exactly a year ago! What are some new things that we should be on the lookout for... souvenirs, food, etc... Besides the obvious ST and TLM rides.
Bump.... I would like suggestions - scbcrew138.7 #2463 6-17-11 8:52AMLike Reply
Trying to think of what's new! The menus at Village Haus and Hungry Bear have changed--both are very good, so you might want to look into those. If you're into Dooney purses, they have some Disney ones. Of course, there are lots of new vinyls, if you collect. DCA has lots of construction. Goofy's Sky School will open soon, as well as a few new restaurants in that area. - Spoonful_O_Sugar436.3 #285 6-17-11 8:59AMLike Reply
We are new to pin trading! We will be at DL next week. I want to start my soon-to-be 6 year old son on pin collecting, etc. Do they sell special lanyards for pin collecting? Also, do they sell different sizes, like adult's and children's?
Right now they have a special where you spend 25 dollars and you get a lanyard and eight pins for 15.95! It's best if you get mystery traders for trading! - Mouseketeer.for.Short335.3 #451 6-14-11 4:40PMLike Reply
Yep! They do have starter kits which are a perfect way to start.. And yes, they do have kid sizes and adult sizes! Good luck with your new collection! Pin collecting is super fun! - kritomiester328.3 #482 6-14-11 4:42PMLike Reply
Yeah it is through disneyland I can't remember I it was at dca...I bought on at the small world shopping pavilion :) - Mouseketeer.for.Short335.3 #451 6-14-11 5:24PMLike Reply
Totally. But just buy a lanyard so you can get pins you actually want! - andrewpineda4.8 #10838 6-14-11 5:39PMLike Reply

I am just curious... What is the point of pin trading? I have always wondered??? I don't want to offend anyone... I just want to see everyone's points of view.
I love pins! Its fun to find pins that mean something to me and I always pick out a pin every visit and when I look at them they remind me of that special time.. Like I got one for my honeymoon, one for valentines day, I even have one from when I was little and got to dance in the Disneyland parade! To me they are memories! - kritomiester328.3 #482 6-13-11 4:57PMLike Reply
If a random person appraches you to trade and requests a pin you don't want to trade you politly decline. No hard feelings. That's why sone times I'll wear two lanyards: one for display pins and one for trading pins. Most people understand that when you have a neat collection you want to show them off. The hardest is turning down a trade with a kid. That's why I have the second lanyard cuz I'd love to trade, just not my favs. - hahalina121.6 #2703 6-13-11 8:09PMLike Reply
The best way that works for my hubby is he buys trader pins off eBay so if he sees a pin he needs he doesn't need to worry about trading a pin he wants to keep. He also only trades off of cm's because they usually have the pins he wants most of the time if he gets to them in time before the ones he needs are gone. - stargoddess120509.6 #232 6-13-11 8:20PMLike Reply
What is your favorite restaurant inside either DL or CA? And why?
I love Big Thunder Ranch BBQ and I love Hungry Bear. The scenery and the food is soo good at Hungry Bear. Endless amount of delicious bbq and how you can relax and be crazy at Big Thunder Ranch. - mstiauna2789.3 #3152 6-12-11 12:22PMLike Reply
Mine is Blue Bayou for the ambiance, and Big Thunder Ranch BBQ for the food. - scbcrew138.7 #2463 6-12-11 12:23PMLike Reply
Ariels grotto, they seem to be the only in park place with steak and have the best deserts. My favorite one is the white chocolate conch shell - noaddrag9.4 #6958 6-12-11 12:31PMLike Reply
Well, the food at Club 33 can't be beat - but for more easily-accessible chow, I really do love the Monte Cristo and Bayou Potatoes at the Blue Bayou :) - BreadAndButterfly505.3 #234 6-12-11 12:34PMLike Reply
