I need some tips for getting thru DLR and DCA during the first official week of Spring Break March 18-24 without completely going crazy. I can only imagine the lines will be nuts. We are going to do that Tuesday thru Friday. Any helpful t More...
Get there earlier and grab Fastpasses when you can. Check out the stage shows when the parks are crowded. Don't forget the small shows that pop up periodically (Dapper Dans, Green Army Men, Five & Dime, etc) - ScooterMike1959.8 #35 1-29-13 10:36PMLike(1) Reply
I think you're actually on the early end of spring break, so that may work in your favor. The weeks before and after Easter tend to be the busiest. It will still be busy, though, so make good use of Fastpass and take advantage of any early entry options you may have. Have fun!!! - PrincessKristin774.5 #126 1-29-13 10:42PMLike(1) Reply
I recently read "the unofficial disneyland guide book" it has an itinerary that works you away from the hot spots if possible. It has a guide for people with little kids or big kids. It seamed very practical! Lots of good tips too! - julietyler764.1 #12958 1-29-13 11:48PMLike Reply
Quick ? Trying to schedule our dining for our trip from March 19-22. Disneyland's website does not have the entertainment up for that week yet. Normally, for busy spring break times will they have two parades a day at the DLR? My kids alw More...
They should. That's about the time that our peak spring break scheduling time starts for CMs and we have to have full availability again. - IDVandalSkipperCM1296.5 #63 1-29-13 10:51AMLike(1) Reply
Are the times usually 3pm and 7pm? I just can't remember. I guess I can make a few resos then cancel? I just don't want to call later and things be booked. Thanks so much for your help. - DisneyLuva4Life9.0 #7117 1-29-13 10:52AMLike Reply
IDVanda, you are correct. I called Disney Dining and they actually had an entertainment schedule past what they are posting on the website. Character and main dining all booked! Thanks a lot. - DisneyLuva4Life9.0 #7117 1-29-13 11:34AMLike Reply
Frequent visitors...we are finally able to come back to DLR in March. However, we have to go during busy spring break time due to my University schedule. Which would be less crowded... Tue-Fri or Wed-Sat?? I assume the former...
I would say Tues-Fri. Not entirely sure though. We don't go as often as we'd like. I would guess avoiding the weekends is the way to go. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer! Have fun planning! - melissa_ficent317.9 #531 12-9-12 3:46PMLike Reply
Poll-You have a 5 yo, 6 yo, & 18 mo. If you had the opportunity, would you bring your sitter/nanny with you for a 6 day Dland vacay? We only get to go once a year. Figured sitter would help with baby to make riding w/older kids easier.
At first I thought we were rappin' with those yo's and mo. 😂 It's time for bed. - AshleyLynn22747.6 #136 10-24-12 11:49PMLike(2) Reply

For our trip in 2013 we want to splurge and stay at the resort. What is your favorite resort hotel and why?
I prefer the DLH over the Grand...everything about it is Disney perfect! - Darlingwendi645.2 #167 10-9-12 12:59PMLike Reply
The Grand is beautiful but DLH is my preference. All remodeled and very Disney and indoor/outdoor restaurants are great and not too crowded. Pool areas are more fun too. Paradise is not on DTD and you have to cross the street (plus pool is in back elevated above a parking structure) - ShariRenee1505.7 #51 10-9-12 1:03PMLike Reply
The Grand is quiescent and the views are mesmorizing. Love being on the upper levels where the tree tops are - SThooray6.3 #8762 10-9-12 6:08PMLike Reply

Yeah obviously!! She talks to people going into the parks all day when she drops off these strollers, so someone told her this. I'm glad it is not true!!! Was making me sad all day...as a child (and now an adult) the mickey balloons are one of my favorite things in the park. - DisneyLuva4Life9.0 #7117 7-29-12 10:21PMLike Reply
Long Time, no talk MW friend's!! I was wondering how many of you on here moved to or around Anaheim just so you could enjoy DL more? Is it easy to find professional jobs in the area? I would love to be closer to the magic one day. :)
I told my hubby that I wanted to move to our apartment here in Anaheim because I love the property (plus he gets an employee discount) but secretly, I wanted to be closer to DL! Irvine has more professional jobs & it's about 30 min away with traffic. It's worth it. 😃 - Vegan7LuvsStitch799.8 #116 4-27-12 9:54PMLike(1) Reply

Are we able to board the monorail in tomorrowland & take our stroller on the monorail? Can we get off at Downtown Disney? If not, how long of a walk from Dland to the Dland Hotel? We have dinner at Goofy's Kitchen on Friday :-)
Of course, fold it up and your set to go - MarshaMouse2864.4 #15 11-13-11 10:40PMLike Reply
Yes, you have to collapse your stroller unless you can get in the front section. It's probably the same amount of time as waLking 10-15 minutes. - akpoppins243.3 #1070 11-13-11 10:42PMLike Reply

I keep us on a strict budget, I coupon..we put our kids absolutely first before our wants. They are able to do any clubs/sports they want. But we don't buy them toys or extras much. We splurge on bdays, xmas, & at Disney of course. Even at a young age they understand what we are saving up for. Good evening MW! :-) Need to ask all the night owl MWers out there: What is the best way to ensure a great viewing spot for WOC. Have not seen it yet. Need all the opinions/ideas you can throw out there.
If you have the money eat at ariel grottos very good and you get preferred seating. Otherwise a fast pass will do. Blue is a good view. - SillySwings435.3 #287 9-26-11 9:25PMLike Reply
Wet zone because then you don't have to look over the sea of people in front of you (especially the parents who have kids on their shoulders), they sell ponchos too but you don't really need them, - Jessgiac8.6 #7270 9-26-11 9:26PMLike Reply
We got a fastpass for yellow. It was good cuz we sat right behind the gate. There was no one in front of us, so we could see with no problem. - indyRocks343.9 #424 9-26-11 10:20PMLike Reply

Fast passes are a gamble to what section you will get. Where as the dining has it's own spot. In my opinion, I think the other viewing areas are better than the dining viewing area. But mostly everyone disagrees with me. LOL!The dining section is a lot less crowded. But if you have little ones, I would stay all the way to the back and stand behind the planters towards TLM building. Nobody will be able to get in their way and you get a wide view of the show.

Has anyone stayed at the Anaheim Doubletree? I'm not worried about the resort, just concerned about where it is on the ART route & if there is adequate room on the bus when it comes.
If this is the doubletree by the convention center, there is an ART stop directly across the street in front of the Travelodge. Busses are almost never full. It is like $4 now, though, so plan for that. You'll be somewhat close to the Toy Story lot, so you coukd walk there and catch the free busses. That's what we did. Hope this helps! - madmarchhare221.2 #1343 8-31-11 10:07PMLike Reply
Thanks guys! At first I coukd not see your post, madmarchhare. We have to stay at the DT as we have a discounted nonrefundable room rate. Being a fam of 5 now we needed a larger room.
