BVS is timeless... I love the architecture and all the shops. I'm taken back by all the details they included inside of the shops as well. The trolleys also add that genuine touch that you have entered back in time to when Walt arrived. I absolutely love it. And Carsland is just too busy for me to enjoy it yet. Aww I wish I could answer all of this.. Still haven't been yet :( but I do have hopes and thoughts on what I imagine it to be 😊 I've so far seen the Carthay Circle Theater as it was the only area open. I could say that I have some thoughts about it, I'm still dreaming about it. I was really happy to scout the Carthay Circle Theater when I arrive at the parks and was mesmerized after discovering it but the first thing that awed me was the fountain. I was captured by the romance of the water and the fountain as it sets the stage for the Carthay Theater. The tile work, fine embellishments, the paint and colors chosen for the fountain, the sounds that graced with 20's/30's music from its seeming less speakers combined with the sound of the calm water, were among the beautiful and very well combined details that led as the centerpiece of DCA. I really believed that I was transported to an old still shot, but with sound and color, I even felt underdressed for this presence ☺. The sound of the fountain was my favorite, it was soothing and it made everything feel real– almost like being pinched to reality. Finally, as I walked around the fountain and stood in between the theater and fountain, the entire scene made sense. I looked up at the tall theater, I noticed the trolley tracks in my periphery and listened to the beautiful fountain and my mind was blown away.. it filled me with emotion and almost instant (sweet) tears. I really took in the most of that moment and appreciated it. It was an organic and unique experience because it all symbolizes what we believe as Mouse Waiters, and more meaningfully, what I believed since I was child... Magic is real, dreams do come true and never stop believing. At last I realized that I was looking at a monument, the (original) Carthay Theater in 1937during it's hay days when its glowing lights lit up for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". It may be silly to say but the world wouldn't be the same without that moment... though here we are getting a precious piece of the monumental day, we wouldn't of been here with out it. I was completely mesmerized! I felt like I'd waited forever to see it. And it just so happened that I had o have surgery just 2 days before the opening. I couldn't stay away! My husband and daughter took me and rolled me through in a wheelchair. There are so many doing the right thing, it's not easy being a teacher and some do it with so much grace, honor, and passion. This breaks my heart. It's just one of the many things that make up the current crisis in education. My parents, along with other family members have been teachers, and I work in education, and have seen things get worse over the years. To see bright, compassionate teachers get pink slips while those that don't care remain just ticks me off! I understand the need for tenure, protection and gratitude for serving, but not everyone deserves it. Seeing SO many GOOD dedicated, loving teachers get pink slipped and still have these lemons breaks my heart! Tenure started to protect the teacher from a principal who doesn't like you. Too many times a principal could fire you just because they personally don't like you. I know everyone knows me and knows I'm a good person but if my ex Ass. Principal had it her way, she would have found any reason to fire, JUST because she didn't like me. She never came in and observed, never knew me prior to her coming to my school and simply didn't like me. I agree with Cali. A vinyl 101 would be a great way to start. When you are new to collecting you don't realize the ins and outs of the hobby. Some tips on how to know when you're swimming with sharks could be helpful. I think a calendar of upcoming releases would also be a cool feature. Perhaps there could even be a section for some MWers to display their custom work. I have seen some cool customs done by some very creative people here on MW. I would assume if it isn't the centerfold of the mag already, Vinylmation Theatre should definitely be represented somewhere. I've only been collecting for a year so I know you can find much wiser traders than myself.
